So, Sakina, tell Dr.Blind your troubles.
.......

...........
Yes, I see, so Abs. is very demanding you say?
In addition he likes to dress up as a random wild animal during private moments...I see, interesting*writes this down*
He also has a habit of chasing every dog on the street?
Sakina in my office we do not refer to other human beings as do-----oh you meant real dogs, interesting, continue.
Well, Sakina do you have expectancies for Abs.?
.....
......
I see, though you do not want to control him, you would like for him to do everything you tell him to when you tell him to without question, understandable.
This case is a bit more complicated than expected but nothing the usual treatment can't handle.
I suggest you tie him to a chair and proceed to poke him with a stick no less than six feet at 1 minute intervals. After two weeks of doing this, he will break mentally allowing you to reprogram him...or he will turn into a homicidal maniac, just check in with me periodically during this treatment, in case.

Wait? Sakina is taking request?!
I'm Kamen Yaiba. I'm allowed to investigate and interrogate seven people per night in additional to also having an "Evil Radar". The "Evil Radar" allows me to follow ten people per night and if they are evil I know immediately.
Oh yeah, there is also the "Kamen Shield" where the mafia has to run who they are going to kill by me or I automatically block the kill...in addition to ending the game and declaring Ran the winner.
Everyone try you best and do not get discouraged.

I'd like to note the following things:Sakina wrote: *Changes to roles*
- Sherry can no longer detect the strength of a scent. Also, Anokata has no scent.
- Vermouth can't leave the BO. Also, if Sonoko picks a BO member active during the prep phase she will join the BO, but if she picks a BO member not active during the prep phase then the BO member will get a townie role and a random townie will replace them as BO.
- Kir's not in this game either since her role isn't quite... stable yet.
- Vermouth will show up as not BO on interrogations. Investigations and Sherry's sense still work on her, though.
- Sherry should also only be allowed to do is only at day (or only at night, but her day-ability makes her more differnet from the BO). She's still too strong otherwise.
- Why let Sonoko not simply choose a role, as I suggested (of course, BO roles are impossible)? Makes things much easier - and Sonoko becomes a little bit stronger if she's with the townsfolk - in the 2nd game she didn't do anything.
- Vermouth will not show up only if disguised. That's important.
- Don't you want to rise the Investigation Number? Or use the whole new system suggested:
Callid wrote:
Nope, I wouldn't change it (at least not for the police). The investigators are supposed to be weak (they are the pawns in the game), only a little it more than ordinary townsfolk. The likeliness of the FBI/CIA getting a positive result should be one in three or four nights, and the police much less, perhaps once in a six- or seven-nighted game - the true power of the police is the arresting (which was never used *sigh*).Akonyl wrote: Oh, another role that I think might need tweaking is Investigators:
even with Investigator 5, neither Abs or Kleene got anything right either night. I think having to get the two players right, and the first player's role right (in order to get the action right) is a bit too much. Imo, characters should have the # of investigations reduced, and instead only have to investigate things like "Sakina killed", "mangaluva healed", "ctu protected", etc, without having to guess the second person.
Perhaps we could use your suggestion for the FBI/CIA (# = 2 for Jodie and Akai; # = 1 for all others) and keep the police as it is. The police is not supposed to find out someone's action and arrest accordingly but to risk something by arresting a (likely) suspect for something (for example, Beastly might have tried to arrest me for killing ranger). If they fail, it's not a real problem - as I said, they are pawns, and they are still able to vote. Even more, the townsfolk can now trust them, and if several police men got expelled, they get quite strong. However, perhaps we should choose # = 7. - I suppose you will not use the Detective Boys, right?
[/li]Callid wrote: And I'd introduce a new character type:- [li]Mitsuhiko/Ayumi/Genta, Detective Boys
- [li]Know each other's identities.
- Can not be disguised as (how should Vermouth disguise as Ayumi!?).
- Decide one person to interrogate at day together. Therefore, slandering is useless against them, but disguises and Anakota's immunity do still work.
- [li]Mitsuhiko/Ayumi/Genta, Detective Boys
- You should think about how the BO decides whom to kill if there is no Anakota. Last game, we handled it by electing a "BO leader", who simply made the decision (but did not have any other abilities). However, perhaps you won't need it. This system was for the sake of not allowing a certain person (guess who) to commit suicide.
- And I had just another idea. If the Mafia is allowed to elect a leader, perhaps the townsfolk should be allowed to elect a Major (the Major is elected in the first night, and is re-elected if he gets killed in the next phase; if it's a day phase, his ability will already count for this day). This Major's vote will count as two votes during the lynching. I thought of this because we had something like townsfolk leaders in the first two games (me and Akonyl), and the townsfolk clearly missed one in the third, so I thought we should make sure that there is always one, and if there is already one to strengthen him/her.

I'd completely forgotten about sonoko friending a role rather than a player, that makes things easier. Although, let's say vermouth disguises as Callid (who is araide), and Sonoko friends Araide, who gets priority? Will Sonoko friend Callid, who is then given a different role as vermouth disguises as him, or will vermouth have to get someone else's disguise (if you do the whole disguise list thing like I did last game), or what?

The greater problem is what will happen if she disguises as a role not in the game?Akonyl wrote: I'd completely forgotten about sonoko friending a role rather than a player, that makes things easier. I'd suggest to have her give several roles (as many as she wishes) she wants to befriend, and the GM will choose one of those who are in the game and aren't Vermouth in disguise randomly. If none of them is in the game or the only one in the game is Vermouth in disguise, she'll not befriend anyone. Therefore Sonoko shouldn't choose to many (as she might get an unimportant role), but not to few (as might fail to befriend someone). This will solve both problems in a relatively easy way.

How should the Major vote work without the townspeople knowing each other beforehand? If you vote for someone not knowing whether he's a townie or not, then a BO member could become the Major too?Callid wrote:I'd like to note the following things:Sakina wrote: *Changes to roles*

yeah, I'm not sure electing a Major (or Mayor if that's what you mean) would be that great of an idea because it makes another "random" element at the start that the townies probably won't know (and random game-changing elements = bad imo)Kleene Onigiri wrote:

as for the scapegoat rule, it's an interesting role but imo until we can smooth out all the problems with the current ruleset we should avoid adding more dudes.

Indeed. That's the problem with the Mayor (Uhm, yes. That's what I meant). He could easily be BO. But it wouldn't make sense for the BO to kill him, as the townsfolk would get another mayor in no time, and normally the BO has other problems they have to pay attention to.Kleene Onigiri wrote:

Of course, we could consider a scapegoat, but there's nothing to base it on in DC(or RL). Although we do not have a "mayor" either, Conan does clearly have his role. We could also call the Mayor simply "leader" anyway.
But Akonyl is probably right, we shouldn't add more complicated roles.

Re: Mafia Mafia Mafia! Pt. 2! (Sign-up now!)
Well, it's true that the BO can kill the Major right off or not, if they know someone else that is a bigger thread. But if they don't have anyone else to kill, they would most likely kill the major then (I guess)
Well, the problem here is the way to vote for the major. Maybe Sonokos role can vote for the Major in the prep. phase? So this person would have 2 votes to lynch then. She can then also be BBF with that person, and it wouldn't be wrong for a rich girl to know a major too XD
But to add new things in this game is up to Sakina anyway.
I just wondered about my suggestion :p since no on said anything to that ^^"
Anyway, these character were or would have been used as pawns to protect the secret of the BO. So using them as scapegoats isn't too far fetched imo. Also these roles may just kill someone, and don't have any special abilities. They still don't have an "active ability" till they get to be used as a scapegoat anyway. They would have a similar ability to the protectors then.

Well, I suggested it to be Vodka/Pisco/Tequila. Since Pisco was killed because he made a mistake and endangered the BO to be exposed. Vodka made a mistake too and was almost caught by Conan (but saved by Gin). Well Tequila was blown up, but you could say it was somehow his mistake too?Of course, we could consider a scapegoat, but there's nothing to base it on in DC(or RL).
