The Christmas Stream topic is open. PM me any suggestions you may have for Conan-related viewing material and we shall see that it is shown.

Try to get those suggestions in by December 10. The stream should be on December 23 (a Saturday). If anyone has any requests as far as timing goes (be it the day or when it should begin in your timezone), let's hear 'em.

So, we're doing this again, and it'll be #thebest (I've just been informed of one custom case submission that will no doubt shake the very foundations of what it means to be alive). Who knows how many more years of this stuff we all have left as we get older—all I can say is we will definitely do it this year. Come by, be hype!

Ouch.
Must be scary, living in a foreign country by yourself, with none of your old friends and family present, where nobody speaks your language, where the cultural norms and rules are different, etc.

You're making it sound like I'm completely isolated XD.
I can still contact friends you know, aside from me having friends here.

Thanks! I actually made it 3/5 weekdays this week :) Didn't swim as much as I did in the summer, but I'm just trying to get my body used to waking up early & working out now. Baby steps.

Your Name was awesome. I might have to say that it beat out Erased.

First time I see Your Name compared to Erased, lol.
I liked both, but I don't think they're the same genre.

I would disagree. The (male) protagonists in both are transported to a separate body (of sorts, anyway) in a different point in time/space, from a big city to a romanticized/nostalgic setting, to prevent a catastrophe. In both the male protagonist is ushered back in time/space to save the female protagonist. In both the female protagonist has family issues vaguely related to the circumstances of her death. In both, the time/space travel by the male protagonist stops for a time after the initial death of the female protagonist; he feels a deep sense of despair upon learning of her death, but he doesn't give up, and soon he gets a "second chance" to save her. At the end in both, the female protagonist is saved, but this results in a separation between the two leads that lasts for years. Both are short works (one's a movie, the other's twelve 20-minute episodes long) as compared to, say, a long-running Shounen series. Both even have notably similar ending scenes. Snowy landscape plays a role in both, though I'll admit this point is sketchy at best. Both works have a singular prominent running-gag involving the male protagonist and his interactions with other people, especially the female protagonist. Both were released in the same year.

But that wasn't really my point.

@bluekaitou1412

I liked Gumiho.

@Swagnarok

Definitely, there are similarities. I just meant Erased is a psychological mystery (seinen-ish), while Your Name is rather romance-oriented.

And yes, I liked Your Name more. Erased's ending was predictable.
But I'm a time-travel freak so I still like them both.
