Spoiler:
Guys,

According to the spoiler pics, shukichi asks shuichi "where is Mary kaa-San".
But shuichi refers to her later as "kaasan"

Does that mean shukichi is the foster son of Mary? why would a son call her mom using her name.

And it also seems like Mary was hiding from the BO in England. But since she's now in Japan, that too shrunken, she must have confronted BO at some point during these ten years. (I'm not considering shu's fake death as her reason to come to Japan)
If this is the only family interaction, then shu wouldn't know that she's shrunken.

P. S. Masumi's love for sh-uni is so pure <3

Or they just use different ways of adressing based on their habits. Like Shinichi calls his mother kaa-san, Ran calls her mother okaa-san and Mitsuhiko calls his mother okaa-sama; the brothers just differentiate in politeness I think.

Spoiler:
He also called Shuichi "Shuichi-nii-san," and this was after that postcard in which Gosho claimed Shukichi would call Shuichi, simply, "nii-san." Maybe this is a quirk of his. He does keep calling Yumi "Yumi-san" or "Yumi-tan," even though, at this point, she probably wouldn't mind if he eschewed the honorifics. Maybe the same applies to Mary and Shuichi. Like Serinox suggests, Shukichi may just be more polite.

Plus, we've seen, in DC, when characters are referred to/addressed as "otou-san" and "okaa-san," by other characters even when they aren't actually the other character's mother or the other character's father.

Finally, if Mary isn't Shukichi's mother, then how did Mr. Akai first have a kid with Mary (Shuichi), then have a kid with another woman (Shukichi), and then have a kid with Mary, again? Koji Haneda is still Shukichi's non-blood relative.

Spoiler:
I guess "Shuichis" younger brother being "Shukichi" also hints at something.

@Tantei san: Shounen Sunday goes on sale on Wednesdays.

Also, my views on the case:
Spoiler:
Shuuichi and Mary hadn't seen each other for 7 years: same with Shuukichi (who'll become 3rd grade of high school) and Masumi since he didn't even know about her.

Shuuichi and Mary admit having been to England so maybe the "England" part that triggered Conan's memory is because at some point Yukiko commented it to him or one of the Akai family said something hinting to it.

Also... The message the father sent to his wife hints at him being exposed and he fears he'll soon be killed hence why he tells his wife to hide in Japan thinking it's safer.

The father's corpse hasn't been found yet either so his ultimate fate is unknown.

Insofar, things seem to mount up to something... We'll have to wait and see.

Spoiler:
Then he'd still have the Akai surname (even if Mary turns out not to be his mother), since he hasn't yet graduated.

I guess he really was that character who said "It's scary... like you're being possessed..." from Shinichi's/Conan's flashback in 969. After all, Mary's shinigami quote seems to have actually been directed at Shuichi, and her wearing that black shirt wasn't in Shinichi's/Conan's flashback, and Shukichi wasn't standing in front of her, either...

Anyone still think the character who said "It's scary... like you're being possessed..." from Shinichi's/Conan's flashback in 969 is not Shukichi, and we'll see them later in the case?

Seems to go along with Gosho's implication that Mr. Akai is not dead.

Spoiler:
Well, his wife and son assume he's dead because of his text message yet with his corpse not having been found anything's possible.

Spoiler:
Knowing Gosho, he'll pull back Mr.Akai from the dead. Like father like son, if you will.

Spoiler:
Kind of disappointing that there's no twist. Both Shukichi and Mary are exactly who the fans have long expected them to be, from the looks of it.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprise if Daddy Akai wasn't actually dead...That would be a bit boring and repetitive with Shuichi's fake death...

Anyway I prefer the current Shuichi rather that young Shuichi...He seems to be more irritating and pretentious. And he doesn't care about his cute little sister he met for the first time, what a shame! I'm glad he disguised as Okiya, he became a better man after his faked death.

Beside that , the case looks nice and I really like the Mary-Shuichi relationship...I can't wait to see the next file!

if Mr. Akai ain't dead then , the fact is who he is ? and most importantly how does he knows that the BO is after them .! the reason that must be the fact he was either a henchmen/assassin like gin/vodka or a scientist like elena/shiho .!!
And thanks Spimer

Also, I was reading manga chapter 501 , I can deduce that ANOKATA is a really high class guy like a really big man ..! who really has a big name probably a politician and whose funds the BO works !! And BO works under him .! also since Gin-Vermouth had a sexual relnship there won't be a doubt if they were married with the Boss being Vermouth's father actually !! :o :o

yeah, Conan will be alright. Also you'd have to admit that an overly smart kid like Conan can be annoying in real life. Especially if he is so much better at deduction than you and than normal for a first grader. As for Shuu and Mary
Spoiler:
they both are skilled fighters as Mary took down that adult with ease when he ran away through her room. So she probably tried to show him he is not ready yet to change his mind. You can also see in martial arts mangas that the parent often has a fight with the kid

Young Shuu was young after all and probably affected by his dad's probable death. After that time he went through alot and changed, he failed his infiltration, he lost Akemi and so on. Also while he is disguised as Okiya he acts a bit different and relaxed than the colder and calculated than Akai the FBI agent

Spoiler:
Shukichi did write Mr.Akai's full name (赤井務武 ) and Mary's full name (we could only see the "Sera" part) in his marriage registration form (which he gave Yumi). So I still think that Shukichi is really the middle son of Mr.Akai and Mary .
So I agree with Serinox. Shukichi was just being polite
