Episode 825: The Tidal Park Comeback Case

-You know, at some point I'm expecting the characters who explain all this random information that will somehow be relevant to the case later to just turn to the camera and remind the audience that will be a test on it later.

-Pfft, I love how Kogoro wanted to hit on that woman and then immediately switched to "She's a very beautiful woman" in the most serious voice he could muster

-"Who's that?" "Some third person, we knew there had to be a 3rd suspect so..."

This case was just kinda boring but that motive was all kinds of weird. All that effort for...not ruining your retirement day? What?

Episode 826: The Beauty, The Lie, and The Secret

-I'm fairly certain Conan has ridden in at least comparably cool cars before.

-Maybe it's because I've now watched Utena but that whole sequence with the car was...weird...

-"Happiness is built on lies and secrets." Don't worry, this is already Conan's philosophy for life. : DDDDD

-Is Kogoro jealous of Conan because he gets to spend time with a woman?

-This is a very awkward episode when you remember Conan is actually a teenager :p

-This woman with her stabbing object is pretty decent suspense tbh

-Megure has the best time at the end with "Don't drag me into this!"

-OMG Ramen to Die For 2! THE SEQUEL WE WERE ALL DYING FOR!


This case was fun. It wasn't even necessarily the murder itself as much as how Conan confronted the murderer. For a short while, I almost believed something else might have happened. It was nice to give this culprit an actual like...story and whatnot that is focused on so that it's actually interesting. It was done very well and I kinda thought they were gonna have her just never get found out as a murderer.

Episode 827: Ramen to Die For 2 (Part 1)

-This is the case that needed a sequel, obviously. I mean granted, I'm not sure I would want Moonlight Sonata Case 2, but for the entirely opposite reason

-The Rock is intimidating me to not skip this ad

-I have a feeling high school girls do not actually get excited about ramen competitions

-Oh, has it been a while? As in maybe a month or as in like 4 years?

-Of all the things to recap...actually it's so unimportant it makes me wonder if that will actually come into play in this case...

-"It's for my boyfriend who lives with me." Ok, that's just a terrible lie. Sera having a boyfriend. :p

-"What are you doing?" No, seriously, what are you doing? That just looks...weird.

-Wait wait wait, what? So let me get this straight, they gave this sort of arc to try to get this guy back together with Yumi and she just nullifies the whole thing because he's busy? I mean, on one hand, anything to subvert the pair everyone obsession Gosho has is a good thing. But, wtf was even the point then?! Even if they plan to put them back together, wtf is the point?!

-ALSO WHY DOES YUMI JUST NO-SELL SERA BROTHER BEING SOMEONE EXACTLY THE SAME INCREDIBLY SIMILAR TO HER EX?

-Shadowman likes lasso-ing cows with a hose

-I have no idea how to feel about this new Ending yet. That was very...unexpected.


The case is a case. I can't even try to comment on it because it's almost all just characters explaining the case more than anything. Which is different I guess, but it kinda feels like the Sniper case with none of the things that made that exciting.

Watched both episodes, and indeed the 816 was pretty interesting, although too short. I totally wouldn't mind it having extra 30 minutes of Conan pointing out her lies by finding next and next evidence against her. Not to mention her indirect death threats. And Your "Don't worry, this is already Conan's philosophy for life. : DDDDD" should become a meme .

Sato-Takagi undercover scene was funny . The case was boring in itself, but still enjoyable.
Mary is the name of that girl and Conan has seen her before, what ?




But anyways, why didn't he... get a broom? That would've been so much faster and easier. And wouldn't have made so much noise.

-WHY DOES CRUNCHYROLL NOT HAVE A TITLE FOR THIS EPISODE WHAT

-At least the series is aware this is stupid

-I like Sera's outfit for some reason

-God dammit Takagi and Sato

-Did Sato just imply they're going to hype a lot?

-For some reason I just realized how funny Takagi having that hair is

Case existed. I like them just doing this elaborate act just to trick him though. That was funny. But at least now we have something for this mystery girl. I guess.

Watched the Mysterious Boy episode, and it was pretty nice. Especially with the previous AO where he he also confronted the culprit alone, and had a small battle of wits game with them. And I liked how Conan's outfit was kind of different than his usual one. The flashback was pretty interesting too. It would be even better if he appeared in the manga too (Megure thinking who could be the mysterious boy that didn't change during past 10 years, wonder if he could think about Conan - the boy who said that it was not an accident but a murder and then disappeared just to say to the murderer to turn in...).

Contrary to what people say, the recent AO episodes aren't that bad.

I agree with u @Nemomon.....flashback was amazing and that mysterious boy concept was good too...and I agree to what u say contrary to what people saying about AO cases...I agree they are really better ...I don't get why are some criticizing it

While there have been some good AO's recently, which felt like the writers tried to do something good and a bit out of the ordinary, there were also enough terrible ones. Looking at the past ~3 months, there were 3 good AO's (817 - The Missing Fiancé, 826 - The Beauty, The Lies, and The Secrets and now 829 - The Mysterious Boy) and even some of those had their moments of dipping into average territory, 3 really terrible ones (816 - The Disappointing and Kind Alien, 824 - The Detective Boys Get Out of the Rain, 825 - The Tidal Park Comeback Case) and the rest were just completely average or meh. Overall, it's not really that they are all extremely bad, but so many of them are just plain boring.

That The Detective Boys Get Out of the Rain wasn't that bad. I kinda liked it, because for example for once the kids behaved like kids, and it had a plot twist too (who the real culprit it) that wasn't too obvious since the beginning of the episode.

Funny thing is, I'd argue the above line also applies to pretty much most of the manga cases nowadays (and of the recent few years).

I'd say it is the other way around for the manga: overall the cases are good, with some boring ones between them, where with the AO's, overall the cases are boring, with some good ones between them.
