I think I am the only one here who does not like the movie the reason for me is because it has action with spies and saving the world, rather than having a big mystery with a serial killer, which would be more like DC

Not without the reason considering that the manga includes FBI, CIA, PSB, BO, probably MI6. Gin also in manga is looking for spies...

I say this movie won't be any different from manga.

Gin has been looking for spies for like 15 years. The manga always went that route, so in that case this movie is very fitting for DC.
The stakes are on more global scale compared to the cases since it connects back to america... That's how it's always been.

Writing wise it's completely different deal as the movies usually replace that with action. The DC movies always were like Die Hard or action flicks like that and this isn't going to be any different from what I'm seeing.

The title song of the movie by B'z is called "The World Will Become Your Color", so it's probably just a reference to that.

DC movies being more or less spy movies has actually become pretty standard in recent years (movie 17, movie 18 and now movie 20). It's not what I'd call a once in a while thing anymore.

And I think spy stuff gets stale much faster than mystery stuff. Never been a big James Bond fan.

Plus, ever since the Scarlet story in the manga, I've developed a certain...distaste for spies.

Considering that the movie writers always try to shove in CoAi romance into the movies, I don't think the death of Ran will solve much.
