I also noticed the big hint the anime gave us that kind of already revealed who the murderer is! ^^k11chi wrote:Holy crap I loved the episode. I'm not sure if it's because of that filler wave or because of the better pacing (2 chapters is being adapted for this and next instead of 1½ since it's a 4 chapter case instead of 3 and they halve the normal cases per ep) but this feels like an actual story. Pretty intense stuff. I also think the anime did the connection for Kansuke Yamato being a Rum suspect better than the manga in a way that it didn't feel stuffed in in a weird way.
The preview for the next episode looks even better.
I guess the only negative is that there is no "build up" to the suspense, it's a "go-to" a case setting, but since this isn't a long case to begin with (only 1 chapter longer than the normal apartment cases), it's surprisingly good.
Hmm other than that I think the identity of the killer in the anime is very obvious for a certain reason but unlike the fillers there's still other mysteries to solve and foreshadowing for future events.

I absolutely agreeWakarimashita wrote:Not much to say about 808. It was great. I especially liked Yamamura acting as the 'Demon Hunter' as well as his dumb pun. Yamamura is underrated, he's great as comic relief.

Episode 808: The Kamaitachi Inn (Part 1)

Kazuha sounds better! : DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I have no idea even what to think of the idea of eating sashimi off a naked woman. I do know the idea sucks in maybe every conceivable way. Is that even a thing people would be into? I'm maybe thankful I don't know. It better not be that a naked woman alone would spike business, it's 2016, everyone has the internet. Also, if it is a joke, it fails both in-universe and otherwise.
Yamamura is so awesome. Just having this goofy loser be this self-important master detective/inspector in his own mind is always really entertaining. And everyone reacts like they should. It just always makes me happy when he's around.
Dunno what to think about the case. I was worried it was actually gonna be as stupidly minor as small cuts. That would've sucked. Atmosphere was decent.

Same thing for 809. Great episode. One small complaint : the ending was slightly better in the manga imo, but they probably didn't want to have Agasa come in and do one line, much less pay him for it.
Also, props to whoever decided to play more old soundtracks in recent episodes.

Re: Detective Conan Anime Discussion Thread (Latest Subbed Episode: 809)
It's kinda interesting. Not surprising. Really, even though I started tracking that sort of thing myself, basically when I started it seemed like the anime was slowly backtracking on replacing the soundtrack (which legitimately seemed like might've happened in 2010). I think they knew it was a huge downgrade considering some of the newer tracks were already remade a bit after they were introduced.
I'm not sure anyone else ever even noticed that btw. They actually did edit their own music for the newer anime tracks (specifically the ones that weren't taken from the newer movies). Compare, like, the first piece of music you hear in episode 578 to how it sounds in any later episode for example.

Yeah, the episode began with the 'previously on DC theme' and ended with the 'Ran theme'. Although in both cases it was the 2007 remix, I almost felt like I was in 1998. The original ones were still better though.

The preview for 810 caught me by surprise, it's different from the two previews I saw before.

Hopefully m20's OST will bring something to the table. Last one only had a few decent ones. Ill count them once I get home.

Yeah, since this movie will be about the BO, I assume it's ost will replace movie 13's ost, so they better be just as good if not even better.k11chi wrote:Hopefully m20's OST will bring something to the table. Last one only had a few decent ones. Ill count them once I get home.

Movie 13's OSTs suck though. I'm still mourning the loss of the previous BO tracks (theme of the old castle for instance).
