I think the best sign is that the poster is not advertising some of the most popular characters for the sake of the plot characters. (including Chianti and Korn)

Literally Ran is the only non-plot, non-Detective Boy character.

They're BO characters—they're not just "plot" characters—they're popular, as well.

Yes. It's clear to me that with rare exceptions, the plot characters are not what the more casual audience in Japan cares about. So the fact that they would use them anyway shows they are actually serious about this and this isn't just a troll move where the plot characters appear in small chunks only.

I'm looking forward to this movie. Anything involving the BO grasps my interest. I just hope I'm still in Japan for it. Crap happening again which means I'm, once again, job-hunting.
