That's a harder question to answer, but I think Sera is not the only informant the MC has. Of course the MC knows that Conan is not connected to Akai's death, but she also knows that Conan is investigating the BO case, and so he might have been in touch with Akai, or with people who knew him (like Amuro). Therefore being close to him gives Sera a chance to find out the truth.

lol yeah. Eisuke is better option. Many people say that haibara's death is so expected so he may sacrifice his life to protect her. Is it really hard for gosho to keep both of them alive? both are my favorite characters and I don't want them to die
