Your post just reminds me of round 2. At day 2 I didn´t post anything and the Spy, Raiden, accidentally didn´t kill anyone. So at day 3 Fujiwara nominated and voted me because I had been inactive in the topic on the same day when no one died. In the end I was just a civilian though.

That is why I was a bit irritated when I read your earlier post where you said something similiar about us being inactive but we really should post more I think.

It´s not impossible for the Spy not to kill anyone because of inactivity of course, but me not posting isn´t because of lack of time, but lack of ideas.
Basically, the major problem that arises from civilians being quiet and inactive is that they create hiding place for the Spies. The Spies can always hide within those inactive ranks, while the active civilians are forced to reason it out amongst themselves. By all civilian teams being active, we diminish if not eliminate that hiding place and force them out into the open one way or the other. It's not perfect, but it's at least a starting point, wouldn't you say so?

I'd also like to note that the Day 2 fiasco of last time was a pretty special case and wasn't really the fault of any one player. We had to go with what information we had at the time, so that's just how it shook out.

I think the way most players reason, at least in these first three rounds, is that inactive civilians make it a lot harder to effectively proceed and thus why they are so often the first ones nominated for vote discussions. In essence: An active civilian dying/being arrested is a lot more detrimental to the civilian effort than an inactive one dying/being arrested. Imagine if the active civilians were all the first ones to die/be arrested. The game would just be the Spies picking people off while the inactive civilians cast random and likely ineffective votes until the Spy team nearly inevitably gets away on account of never really being in any real danger.
Jellitto wrote:That is completely something I haven´t even thought about, I always thought that the Informants have to identify themselves by posting something that the order said, not by not posting. So, not posting is a possibility too? Seemingly it isn´t against the rules?
The only real restriction on orders is that they must be post-related. Like, you can't order them to change signatures or something like that, but if it's anything fair and reasonable relative to posts within the game topic--including not posting--it should be legal.
I agree that being active in the game topic is important, don´t take me wrong, and I understand the logic behind voting for the inactive too.

And I see, not posting could be an order too. Thought so after reading the rules once more, but wanted to be sure.

You say that like it's a joke, but yeah, that's what we wanna do. Every time a Civilian is arrested or killed that's one name hopefully quite a few teams can cross out on their list. That's what makes the lists powerful...

If the Spy knows who the Detective may be investigating then they can simply kill the target. I think investigation is better as something more unpredictable.

Speaking of investigations, we still need a method of revealing them. I'm just going to throw something out there for now. It's Day 2 so one investigation will have occurred. If everyone lists one "read" on a team (either Spy, Detective or Civilian) then we have some information to work off (we know who people find susp or innocent) and in the case of the Detective's death we can simply reference their previous posts in order to figure out their investigations. Only one person in each team should do it though to prevent misunderstandings.

The number of reads people should give should increase with the number of investigations possible.

Right now, based on our list and the activity and information posted by others in posts from Day 1+, we are going to nominate Kain/Jellitto. There's nothing definite here, and it will be unfortunate if they are civilians, but we have to start somewhere. Judging purely from the information available and from our list alongside inferences from activity in the topic, this is the vote we're most comfortable casting. I'm really glad to hear from Jellitto but I'm not entirely convinced right now. There are still four hours left for anyone to raise any nominations for everyone to consider, and of course for nominees to dispute.

On the other hand, I would definitely not vote for Cider/dumytru, because dumytru put in a lot of effort last phase to ensure a tie when he probably wouldn't have if he were on the Spy team. It's possible that he's on the Informant team, but I'm not too inclined toward that possibility right now.

This is a very good idea. I approve. However, I would caution the Detective team to be very, very careful with giving away any clues as to your identity. The Spy team is still very well hidden right now, so if they were to kill the Detectives, well... Not much we'll be able to do other than start guessing and have only two shots at it.

*very much lost* I am still trying to figure out how to play.... ~_~*
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

So that people feel pressured into being more active. And also, there's a difference between "inactive" and "quiet but still contribute some useful stuff" which you have to take into account.

Any particular questions you two?

(And just ignore the Maths. To get an exact representation of the probabilities would be overly complicated and so very easy to mess up so I'm not sure it's worth it at this stage. Later on, if there are fewer variables it may be of more use, but for now, probably not IMO.)
