but they could just have been ordered to vote for the spy. it's suspicious for someone who always declares their respect for Jd- to do what they did in day 1.

A fair point! But, perhaps our mutual respect led to him considering me a threat as I would him, thus he felt it would be easier for his side with me out of the game. Possibilities!

Thus far it seems out of character for desune to vote Jd-. It might have been to clear the spy's name (which would be Jd-, considering that's who desune voted for), but could also be because desune would rather have Jd- arrested than killed. Even so, it's a weird move in general.
googleearth wrote:Important for us to consider is that the Informants know the Spy's identity, so it's very unlikely that it's Jd- since that's who Conan-chandesune decided to vote.
Which, like apprentice said, could be ordered, by Jd- himself... I've yet to find a code in his message though, but it's clear desune didn't know what to expect as informant either, which is what eventually went wrong with him being killed. Maybe that means the Spy hasn't had the time to make a code or spot said code in the message.

Given that Conan-chandesune was on the Spy's side, if you assume I'm a civilian, I'd say that it's really likely I'd be voted as opposed to not. Also, if it were me as the Spy, wouldn't it be really weird for me to order him to vote for me and then kill him? That'd be one totally evil move if I were the Spy--to use him to create an alibi and then just kill him outright.

I know, I said I learned to overthink things. I just stated a possibility I don't believe in.
On the other hand, it would be a move if use, but that's just me :3

So, shinichi'sapprentice, your theory is that the Spy Jd- ordered Conan-chandesune - unaware of who it is at that point - to vote him and reveal his identity by excessively using periods? Having become aware of who his Informant is, Jd- killed his ally to divert suspicion?

I guess it's not impossible, but I don't think so.
Jd- wrote:[...] Also, if it were me as the Spy, wouldn't it be really weird for me to order him to vote for me and then kill him? That'd be one totally evil move if I were the Spy--to use him to create an alibi and then just kill him outright.
Agreed. Even if you think Conan-chandesune is the one player that Jd- might consider this play with, he couldn't have known who his Informant would turn out to be when he sent the Order.

Yuri Iwamoto wrote:[...] I've learnt to overthink things not that long ago :P
For some reason, it didn't seem that way at the time.

Jd- wrote:[...] The odds of me being the other informant are pretty astronomically low considering that would mean not only did the Spy accidentally kill one of their two informants on Day One, the dead informant also voted for the other one? Not too likely... Not too likely indeed.

[...]
I'm afraid probabilities don't work that way. Just because the Spy had the bad luck of killing his Informant doesn't mean it's less likely than otherwise for said Informant to vote the second one. The chances of Conan-chandesune unknowingly voting the other Informant are independent of who the Spy decides to kill.

Okay, it was a minor RAM issue. Now I'm ready to roll :)

Now, it's obviuosly risky, but certainly worthy, but woudn't the Spy order the Informants to vote the same person?
Either that, either one Informant would vote a random person, while the Spy and the other Informant would vote the same person.
By that reasoning, we can exclude the players who were the only to vote another. (Jd-, Jellitto, Meme, Jecka, Edogawa4869, Kamite and Togop)

But that's only if the Spy ordered the Informants to vote a certain person.

Definitely add Kamite in there. Just overlooked him originally.

Haha, did the detective successfully seduce the spy to help root out the evil elements of the town? XD

I agree with Bash here. Jd has made used of tactics which sacrifice team members for a victory (I still remember that one MM game Jd :x) in the past...but it does put your team at a distinct disadvantage with one member down and therefore not a strategy to be used lightly and certainly not at the very beginning of a game. :P

My theory so far is that it's likely the Spy either missed the informant's signal or the first kill was a shot in the dark because they somehow missed sending out orders during prep phase since I doubt the Spy intentionally would kill one of their own allies this early in the game.

I think that was asked already once, but can't find the answer anymore :V so I ask again probably:

Can the spy send out each Informant a separate order? Or do both get the same order?

Here you go:
Jd- wrote:
googleearth wrote:Just to clarify, the Spy can send different Orders to different Informants. It's not like there's just one Order for every phase, and all Informants will receive this same one, right?
Yep, the Spy can (and should) send specific Orders to specific Informants. They may also just send out a generic Order that goes to both, but this is not recommended due to the problems that could arise for their side. Later in the game, if it devolved into just, "Vote for _______", then it'd make sense, but otherwise, I don't think so.

I have a little request to the admin, can you order the votes by their number? Like Jecka did in Round one?

I am. I'm currently having problems with my sleep schedule too (fyi it's 4:30am here right now) but I'll try my best to keep up with the game. Apologies.
