Ichirô Nagai, the voice actor of Suzuki Jirokichi , was discovered after he had collapsed in a Hiroshima City hotel on Monday morning. He was taken to a hospital, but he passed away. He was 82.
tragic news indeed, nagai had a long and an impressive resume with many rolles from anime i've watched and still watching and i hope his replacement can fill this giant shooes.

Hmm... I hope Gosho will give the characters some sort of special cases then... It's quite sad to see them leave now. And if I remember right last case with Jirokichi was the aquarium Kid case. 2 dying hopefully wakes him up a little, he has so many characters that even if he's not planning on ending the series he could give them all one special case, in a way that it doesn't stop the next one from being special, I guess.

Actually...that was the last one he appeared in that was animated. The latest Kid case won't be animated for months. They'll have plenty of time to find a replacement.
