Talk it over with Pmof, Yuriko was kind enough to switch theme ^^ Also all the pokemons that can't make it into a theme can still be included in the chalenger team.

But I didn't know D:
It's kind of unfair for people who aren't on the irc to take that in consideration... I know non-regulars probably won't join but my laptop is hating the irc for some reason.

IF FIRE HASN'T BEEN TAKEN THEN ALL OF THE DIBS

Hey, can gym leaders come up with the town that their gym is in too, kind of as world building? Someone can lay claim to the museum, someone else the massage lady, say, some people can have boutiques, someone can claim The Big City, specialty stores, things like that.

Added!
And yes! Yes to all! The main attraction of this is the funbattles, but any addition is fully welcomed! your creativity is your own limit! Also every gym has to have a badge, so better start thinking/designing one!

FYI, I volunteer to be just a gym leader instead of trying for E4. V:

I'd like to participate, but I have two concerns:

1. I know almost NOTHING about Gen VI pokemon.
2. How time intensive do you think this will be? For the next month or so, I've got very little to spare, so if it's something that's going to require me being online at particular times, I probably shouldn't join.

If it works out, I'd like to have a Fighting team.

This is all in preparation phase and for surely won't start unti January, so everyone can have time to prepare as much as they can even with little spare time. Once we can get it to start, the only time you would need to get online would be arranged with your opponent, so time shouldn't be a problem as long as you have some to spare.
Let me know if with this you will be able to join, so I'll sign you in!

It's still undecided who would be E4. I know there's been some ideas like forming groups for funbattles or depending on stats, but for now all the signings are for Gym Leaders. Later on we can see about the E4. In fact it might just be best to forget about the E4 and every GL focuses on a badge, a theme, a city, battling style and various other stuff that can be added :P

Which brings another question: is this something where we're actually going to need to be training pokemon or is it more like forum mafia, where everything is RNG'd? 'cause that would be an issue for me too. :-X

Training pokemon, no RNG :P If needed I can put up some explainations on how to easily train your pokemon, but for the most part, you will just need them fully evolved, with the moves you specifically want and make sure to complete all the super training for your team, with that you already have your pokemon 80% fully trained for this.

Well, I'm probably out, then. I don't have X or Y yet, and won't for at least another month. I don't know if I'll have the time to do that much intense training in December (since I work retail and all).

Have fun!

I'd be down. Is water or fighting still available?

And I was also wondering about the 6 pokemon the title trainers would use. They can't overlap with Pokemon in the other themes? And they would have to be super trained in a certain stat?

They can overlap, no problem with that. The only limitation to the title trainer is that the 6 pokemon must have something in common, what we have been calling a theme. As for super training, it is strongly recommended that all your pokemons have completed it, doesn't matter which stat, but there's no limitations whatsoever to it.

And yes either water or fighting can be picked.
