Watched the movie yesterday and................was disappointed!!!

see my reasons: (minor spoilers I don't think will affect the viewing of the film, more like a warning to expect something very different from your expectations)

Spoiler:

I don't like some of the characterization; characters sometimes don't really feel like they are themselves

the movie didn't do a really good job of mixing reality and fiction making me feel the actions of characters are ridiculous (it wasn't so bad in the previous because of Conan's superhuman action scenes that kind of sets the tone of the films)
(I would also say that 2 problems Conan movies are constantly trying to balance: real vs. fiction and older audience vs. younger audience, often making kind of a mess lately )

they made a lot of emphasis on trying to figure out who the Spy is.... but in reality I instantly knew the identity of the spy

the movie ended up being a rescue mission then a detective vs. spy movie

Conan ends up being probably the best spy EVER (he's like a tiny version of Alex Rider )

I just finished watching movie 17 and honestly, considering i didn't understand 3/4 of what they were saying... I ENJOYED it, emensely!

Plot:
I like military stuff! and one thing i really applaud them for doing is how Conan/Mouri's introduction to the case was not as random as in movie 15, where the suspects literally just told them their life story as he just Passed by...just because they recognized him for the famous detective he is
In fact there was pretty much little to no obvious forced things in the plot, which made it so smooth. At least I didn't have to pause in the middle of the movie and ask, "What the.... Why? Just because they wanted it there and couldn't figure it out a good way to insert it so they decided to force it? Huh?"
I mean yes, i do that in my fanfics, but Hey! I'm an amateur, that's why I'm writing a fanfic, not a novel not a movie....they have no excuse to do that!

The romance:
was NOT forced! amazing right? how many movies has it been lately, where it seemed to just be there for the sake of being there, again movie 15's way of showing some "romance" seemed to be off at times... Sigh~ lot's of critic on that movie, even though i really liked the action, and ONLY the action, i couldn't get over how a lot of things in plot were ... forced. I actually liked it for once! And I'm Yaoi girl, imagine?!

Moving on: Action?
not that much, but the amount is just right! not too much in places where it had no need for, and not not-existant. just good. But then again, i guess it depends on the plot, this time the plot was more smarts than brawn

Sound: i dunno, i wasn't really focusing, but nothing really popped out, i guess it's same as usual?

Visuals/Animation: Amazing as per always, though... some 3d parts were a bit, just a tiny winy bit... Meh
Though to be fair, for some reason Conan's anime doesn't have the best of animation, at times i can't help but feel they may the worse , but the Movies take care to gives us eye candies every year at least

Characters.... Hmm, not bad, Actually never mind , they are GOOOOOD! it's been a while since i liked the "Suspect" cast or whatever they are called. Last was M13 Irish and inspector Ogino -sadly she NEVER showed up again, she has so much Promise too!- and before him was M12's singer ... I forgot her name, you probably know who I'm talking about. Oh, and Satoshi too, m14 and~ while we're on it m16 's soccer players
... I take back the "it's been a while"
