Re: Anokata theory: The boss may be...
Wasn't it implied in one interview that Anokata is actually foreshadowed or present in one of the earliest cases, because Aoyama hadn't planned for it to run long?

Yeah, he only estimated that it would run 3 months. How wrong he wasmangaluva wrote: Wasn't it implied in one interview that Anokata is actually foreshadowed or present in one of the earliest cases, because Aoyama hadn't planned for it to run long?
I don't think this means that the boss appeared in the first 3 months, though, since he clearly would have known before those 3 were up that it was going to end up being a longer series.

Re: Anokata theory: The boss may be...
Yup, yup, just a possibility. If her sense not being triggered by the boss was the case (which I'm obviously not saying it is, it's just another possibility to add to the thousands of others), then there would definitely have to be more evidence pointing towards that person, especially as we got closer to the big reveal.Pmofmalasia wrote:That would be a bit absurd (on Gosho's part, it's still a valid thought), since her senses have never been wrong that I can remember. So to go back on that with no clue about why they would fail would be unfair to the readers. I suppose it's possible if we're ever given hints that she can be wrong in the future though. Ah, and I don't count Akai as being "wrong" since he was technically in the BO at some point, to clarify.random noob wrote:Just an idea that I had, and I'm not sure if it's been brought up yet or not (sorry if it has). But, a possible reason that Haibara specifically would be surprised about the boss' identity could be that the boss doesn't give off the same aura that frightens her like the other BO members do.Nix wrote: 3) Haibara would have never guessed
Just a thought.
You would also think that it would be almost anti-climatic in a way if Haibara wasn't in full freak-out-mode from her "B.O. sense" if she was near the boss whenever he/she was revealed.
I don't remember her ever being wrong with her sense either, and I definitely agree with the whole Akai thing.

Re: Anokata theory: The boss may be...
I think the boss appear whenever Haibara isn't around. It makes search twice harder! (or not, I come up with theory)
About the net, which explains appearance of notebook in locked room. They often put boss in shadows. *frown* He look even more sadistic behind the set. I don't know who else is sadistic in DC manga, I think the boss is why wouldn't be after put up with Gin of his endless killings. If boss blend in crowd I think he make himself look like a nerd if he don't want attention.
I think Gosho already give hint what boss's fake job entails, I think it's more than I count.. How many times Kogoro meet Yoko at media station. Front job at entertainment? Yoko. Vermouth. Yukkiko. Many cast we lost count. If boss did appear in Apple case, he already did. It's possible Vermouth meet him more there and so do Yukkiko. Media, people, media.
If Haibara did not recognize him, I don't think she can sense him because she won't expect him appear at media station and often saw his mask I don't think she can recognize and sense, boss often let B.O do dirty job for him and he's highly conspirator in his hands. If he did kill, she can sense him straightaway, he won't go through trouble recruiting and being exposed. It's likely in past before he's head he did involve in gang fight but end up having his own gang until they form B.O, leave matters to Gin in charge of killing than himself in front job. This could be reason she can't sense him because she did not see him in action, if sensing boss it's difficult his aura will be different because she's adapt to sense Gin that she's emotionally attach to him as they're related to be Gin feel for her sexually.

Re: Anokata theory: The boss may be...
Hmm... So the Boss is someone who appeared early on.... someone Haibara would never suspect...
Of COURSE! It's so obvious now! The Boss is... Ayumi!
If you think about it, it all makes sense! Ayumi has a crush on Shinichi, so she created a plan to get them together. Firstly, she created a shadowy criminal organization knowing that Shinichi, being a detective, wouldn't be able to resist investigating them. The incident at Tropical Land was staged to lure Shinichi in so they could dose him with Apotoxin 4869 which Ayumi had made specifically to shrink Shinichi down to her age so they could be together. Now Shinichi's in hiding. He has to change his identity and distance himself from everyone he loves. Enter Ayumi right in time to assert herself and her crew as his new best friends before anyone else can make a move. Now she's close to him all the time. Always working to win him over. Meanwhile she uses the threat of the BO to keep Shinichi from going back to Ran out of fear for her safety believing that eventually Ran will get fed up with the waiting and break it off, at which time she'll be conveniently positioned to move in on him. The only problem was Sherry's defection and alliance with Shinichi. Now she's in the way, both as a threat to the secret of the BO's real purpose, and as a new potential love interest that might draw Shinichi away from her. She can't just blow the whistle on her, as if the BO suddenly knows exactly where Haibara is then Shinichi will know there is a spy. So she is forced to send operatives to hunt Haibara while hiding in the background. Now that both Vermouth and Bourbon have failed, I shudder to think what strategy Ayumi will turn to in desperation. Hopefully Shinichi will figure out the truth before it's too late.

I'm pulling my head together. Let's think about it.... If organization is old like Chek said; Anokata may make himself look like 40 as he was old to be grandpa. Beauty of Immortality is when you grow young your skin look like 30, Sharon is one example. So 120 turn 100, 100 to 50, 50 to 40... but Shinichi is teenager and he straightaway into child. 40 years old can look like 30. Anokata likely to be putting himself as 30 years old as he shrunk to 40.

Re: Anokata theory: The boss may be...
Semi-crack theory: Ano Kata is Eri.
The first case she shows up in has its' first file being "A Key Character" and Haibara hasn't met her (therefore, her "ohshit BO sense" hasn't been tested yet). The dial tone of Seven Year Old could signify something about Conan or possibly something when she and Kogorou separated when Ran was seven. This also fits the idea that Ano Kata was introduced or named before File 551.
Let's face it, Haibara would also be shocked by it. After all, Ran is her daughter. Eri turning out to be Ano Kata would be incredibly surprising and would make her and Ran antitheses. That may also explain Vermouth's soft spot for Ran and Shinichi, aside from Ran saving her life in New York, because she knows that Eri will skin her alive if she kills her daughter.

Re: Anokata theory: The boss may be...
The boss has to be Atsushi Miyano. He was mentioned early in the Manga, Haibara would be shocked and it was mentioned that he was a very cautious man. Same thing goes for Anokata.
I will be quite shocked, if the boss isn't Atsushi.
This could also mean, that Vermouth might be Elena or took her place, after Elena was killed (maybe even by Atsushi himself).

For some reason I think the Boss is Mitsuhiko, I know it sounds ridicilous but some moments just give off that feeling
not to mention, Mitsuhiko is smart, but not too smart, 'Anokata' is very, very careful about everything
and IF he/she is the one who in DC killed Touichi, and Touichi is on the same level as Yusaku... Someone who can bring down someone like that is no push over
Anokata being one of the DB sounds ridicilous enough to be true

Akai Shuuichi is out of this, he hates them for killing Akemi (Haibara's sister). He is also an FBI member.
Are you kidding me guys? Mitsuhiko? Ayumi? They are just kids and have nothing to do with 'Anokata' nor even with Shinichi.
I also don't think Gin is 'Anokata'.
Well... we should ask Minami Takayama-san ... she said that she knows who is 'Anokata'. XD

Watch as it'll be someone completely crackish, like Natsue or Takeshi from that really early case in Volume 3.
