What's on your mind?

If you have some randomness to share that you can't post elsewhere, this is the place to do it.

Hilariously, the most "action" in the current elections seems to be in the fights between the ultra orthodox parties. I guess that's what happens when so many rabbis of so many waves run to politics.

So I was reading a thing about Japanese pronouns, which mentioned that, along with "teme", "omae" is also a rude way of addressing someone. The dictionary mentioned that "omae" is pronounced like "oh my".

Then I was on Facebook and read a post by George Takei and suddenly George Takei became ten million times funnier. Oh myyyy...

You have to be very, very drunk in order to make "omae" sound like "oh my"...  :-X

I'd just started getting back into the Pokemon TCG and was thinking about going places to play with people I don't know, since the only people I've ever played with are friends.  Then I found out that the only cards that are 'officially' allowed to be used are from the Black & White booster packs onward... kind of disappointing to be told that nearly all the cards I've been collecting for over 10 years are worthless if I want to play anyone else unless it's casually :-\

How so?  I'd have to say you have to be very drunk in order to make it NOT sound like that.

Isn't omae supposed to be pronounced oh-mah-eh instead of oh-mah?

It's certainly sounded like "oh-mah-eh" every time I can recall hearing it in anime....
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Yeah, I thought so. Although if you say it fast and run it together, it does sound like "oh my", at least when I say it, so I'm not sure if that's what the dictionary meant that you're meant to do. (It's a dictionary for tourists that we have under the counter at work. We have a few of these so we can look up how to ask people if they want postage stamps.)

What is it about?

“Friendship is like standing on wet cement. The longer you stay, the harder it's to leave, and you can never go without leaving your footprints behind.” - Unknown

“If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.” - Nora Roberts

"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." - Robert Brault

"Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. Rich people can't buy more hours. Scientists can't invent new minutes. And you can't save time to spend it on another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time you've wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow." - Denis Waitley
