What's on your mind?

If you have some randomness to share that you can't post elsewhere, this is the place to do it.

Whiskey can't be scotch, because whiskey is from the US or Ireland. Whisky is from Scotland (or Canada, but there are a lot of Canadians of Scottish descent and Canada has the biggest Highland Games in the world, so it's honorary scotch ;) )

And marzipan is just basically sugar and almonds. And yeah, saffron is expensive. But then again it does require quite a lot of work to make and just that teeny tiny amount gives so much flavour.
*don't (doesn't is singular; English is absurdly confusing)
Nice! I want to try.... Please?
Although I will have to try it before new year's; the anti-trigger diet I'll be starting on specifies no nuts of any kind. ~_~*
There's no saffron in either of them ;)
I could send the recipes, I suppose you want them in American measurements?
*shrug* If you want. I'm pretty good at doing the conversions myself, and I do have a scale that runs metric. If you take a peek at my blog, you'll note I've done full conversions for metric on the recipes posted.
Okay :) Then I won't have to change it, goodie XD
Yay!! More new things to try! Hmm, do you know what the ball-test stage is called, by any chance? (in case I can get hold of a candy thermometer?) Or is it best to do the ball test to make sure it's at the right point anyway? Also, what IS the correct pronunciation? I look at it and my auto-read gives it a sound like knock except with an a instead of an o, similar to knack. Is that anywhere close? (No idea how to read the a with the dots; I haven't gotten very far yet in trying to learn Swedish, sorry.)
It has nothing to do with the warmth it's for the consistence :-X
And I think it's rather hard to explain but you could use the pronounce thing on google translate :P

What? I can't make heads or tails of that statement.
Whiskey made in Scotland is "Scotch". Whiskey made in Ireland is "Irish".  Whiskey made in Kentucky (US state) is "Bourbon". Anything else is just whiskey. This is based off a bar-tending class I took.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

You're missing the spelling. Scottish or Canadian is whisky. Irish or American is whiskey. The e is the difference. This is what I was told in the whisky shop I work in.

I can back her up on the "whisky" being the correct spelling in Scotland (and in England too, but we're nowhere near as bothered with those kinda things as the Scots :P) but I don't know about the Irish spelling :x. Probably is what she says but tbh I don't pay much attention to alcohol related stuff outside of DC XD.

Ah, now I see! It's a region-based lingual difference. To me, "whisky" is misspelled (my computer's spell-checker is giving me the red line), where to you it means the same thing as what I am calling "Scotch". Not sure I'd consider Crown Royal or Canadian Club a 'Scotch' (even honorary) but then there are some who insists that Jack Daniels (Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey) is "Bourbon", in spite of the fact that it's not from Kentucky. (Or more likely either because the person saying such a thing doesn't realize it isn't from Kentucky, or that Bourbon means 'from Kentucky'. These are the same sort of people who would probably be confused if I tried to explain that Champagne MUST come from a particular region of France.)

Well, Canadian is whisky, but it's not scotch. I don't know the intricacies of the bourbon debate as well; our shop sells almost exclusively scotch, with a couple of Canadian whiskies as well. My shop manager can talk forEVER about each and every one of them.
