probly just the mountains of cash he already has.

Plus I'm sure he'll still get royalties to some degree, and I know he's contracted to be a "Consultant" for the Disney Star Wars.

Lucas's reasoning for this is that he wants to pass down Star Wars to a completely new generation so that the legacy can continue to thrive without his help in the future.

Also, Disney does not make horrible movies unless they're crummy musicals or Disney Channel originals. I'm personally excited after seeing what they did with The Avengers.

although Disney distributed Avengers and owns Marvel, I'm not sure they actually had much to do with its creation, did they? After all, Avengers was in the woodworks long before Disney even got a hold of Marvel.

I do agree on the excitement, though. Star Wars itself is still a good IP, the aversion people have to SW movies is almost entirely because of how Lucas handled the prequels, so if his consultant role leaves him mostly out of the picture, I could see good SW movies happening again.
