I've recorded this, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

EXCELLENT second episode. Another fine mystery if I do say so myself, and the...
Spoiler:
Violin burning scene
...was simply amazing.

CBS has a winner here, and the ratings are through the roof. The premiere drew 13.41 million, and it retained something like 90% of its premiere audience from last week, so you can likely expect this to stick around for a while if all goes well.

watched the second episode, which was pretty awesome, although
Spoiler:
with how they made sure to point out "Sherlock thinks she's faking it" and then that "no it's totally a coma", it turning out to actually be the woman in the coma seemed pretty obvious from that point on.

My opinion is a little contrary to others' here, but
Spoiler:
I don't like the fact that both murders in the episodes so far has to do with some kind of medical/mental problem. To me, it's a poor excuse.
Simply speaking: I like the series, but not because of the mystery.

I was pleasantly surprised by the series.  Also, I agree with JD-'s spoiler box.  Made my day.

I loved the two episodes. I honestly thought it was great how they did the murders.

I... don't like it. *_*

I mean... it's okay... but compared to BBC's Sherlock it's nothing. xD

First of all they're definitely taking the bromance between Watson and Holmes and making it ROMANCE- no matter HOW much they deny it. Second of all Sherlock... sexually active? I'm... I'm sorry no. T_T Third of all BBC's Sherlock has by far better writing and the actors are more talented and fit better together (in my opinion).

It seems like it would be a great series; if you've never laid your eyes on BBC's Sherlock. XD I just can't help but to compare the two when watching Elementary and I just... I can't enjoy it.

Sounds like a good reason for me to watch it, then. Since I intend to never see a single episode of Sherlock. V:

I'm sorry but basing one show on another just seems silly when the only thing they have in common is that they're based off another series (albeit book series) that has had a million adaptations by now.

Unless, of course, you plan to also compare it to the books and movies and everything else? V:

I will say that if the writers intend to get Holmes and Watson together, I probably won't put in the effort to watch it.

Well the way they wrote it in itself just seemed very awkward to me and hard to get into, regardless of how superior Sherlock is. xD It was just very hard to get into and like. The actors are okay but the writing isn't... spectacular.

And with the way they first met and the obvious sexual tension between them I'm going to assume that's what they're going for. It's kind of an obvious way to start off a romance.

That's what I'm afraid of with this one.  If they can manage to keep it totally platonic, it can be great.  I think it'll spiral downhill quick if they go the romantic route.

Well I'm betting that they went for making Watson a female because it's hard for a lot of the general public (in this country) to accept a gay couple- especially when they're the stars of the show. I'm surprised The New Normal exists. ._. I'm betting you that's why Watson is a woman and not a man.

Ooooooooor Watson was made to be female because the creators wanted to just go a different route than most other series/films involving Sherlock and Watson. Let's not attribute homophobia where there may not be any.

Or they wanted to put a new spin on things and bring something new to the table : V
