Kaito & Shinichi comparison

A difference would be the relationship they share with their childhood/love interest. (Or their way of showing their affection? Hmm..)

Shinichi is usually more serious with Ran, I suppose there is more of those 'love tension' or self-awareness between them, while Kaito is, well, always joking-around with Aoko. He also likes to tease her (reminiscing episode 1 of Magic Kaito).  Maybe Shinichi and Ran are more serious because they don't really see each other anymore, so they don't really share the little joys of seeing each other everyday (like being playful with each other).

Kaito appears to be jolly but can be pretty serious inside.
Shinichi tries to appear serious but is just a huge fanboy inside.

I think Kaito would get along with Yukkiko smashingly

Well, if it is to be compared then.. I really don't think that someone would be a point ahead or so. Both are just the same.. Logical minds .. Just they cultivate their mind for different aspects..

-Kaito publicly breaks the law, while Shinichi does it secretly..or uses the fact that he's a kid as an advantage. Actually, if there were a line between helping the law and breaking it, both would be crossing that line whenever they wanted.
-They both don't want others to get hurt, even going so far as to (try to) save one who would kill them.
-Both had other detectives sniffing around them. Conan cared to much about what Ran would start thinking if someone else accused him of being Shinichi, so Heiji got proven right. Everyone knows Hakuba thinks Kaito is Kid, but he cannot prove it.

And a bit more minor, but both of their girlfriends have best friends who are Kid fans.

Well, both have:

-Pretty much look identical. You could mistake them as twins.
-Both love a childhood friend
-Boths love has a father who is either a police or former police force member
-Boths loves fathers hate Kaito/Shinichi
-Both are same body type
-Both are targeted by a certain group of people.
-Both have a mission.
-Both are very close to their mothers.
-Both have famous fathers.

There are too many similarities.


But the differences:

-Shinichi is a bookworm, Kaito is a thug type, so say.
-Shinichi is an "Innocent" character, while Kaito is a "Villain" character.
-Shinichi follows the law, while Kaito breaks it.  *
*Sometimes Shinichi DOES break the law as conan, but only does so to solve the case, which in the end, helps the police.
