I'm not even going to attempt to make sense of how MMO sex works. I mean I doubt they scanned their bodies while naked. o_O;
They have known each other for 2 years. I'm sure she's been in love with him for a while too. Also, they have been in a near-death situation just a moment ago. The thought of dying and having their partner dying was too awful for them. They HAD to stay together that night.

It made perfect sense.

And yea, this is where 16.5 occurred.

So soon?  They've known each other and have fought together in life or death situations for almost two years.

As for the scan, it scanned their minds, not their bodies.  If their mind knows it, the machine knows it.

I know that it has been 2 years since they first met, but they only started to get to know each other personally recently. What happened during the 2 years was basically Kirito wondering around alone and causing random girls to fall for him. o_O; You can't say that they were in a relationship for 2 years.

I'm pretty sure the scan was of their bodies not their minds. It was stated in episode 1 wasn't it?

The machine is connected to their heads, which connects to their brains.  How is it going to scan the body, exactly?

well true, it was of their bodies

but they also say "had to touch our bodies all over"... maybe Kirito took it more literal than he should have :P

but really, considering that they just had to "calibrate" it, it could easily be the case where their in-game bodies are effectively just blank templates with some dynamic sizes based on the calibration, with hair/face recognition tacked on. So as long as the game was programmed with the intention of sex, the blanks would have the ability. Not really any issue unless someone shows up with a birthmark on their ass or something that the nervgear had no way of knowing about :P

I've been wondering this for a while, but how are all these players surviving in the real world for all this time?  Are they all in hospitals hooked up to IV's or something?  I mean, they aren't getting any food or water in the real world, so these hundreds of players must be taking up a lot of room in hospitals or something, right?

Actually, the "Recently" you mention was actually a span of 6-7 months (Tree incident).  As for the "Fall for him" thing, he's only really had 2 women (Truly) fall for him at the moment, which was Liz and Asuna.

Yeah, They are.  That'll be explained later though.

So far... The anime's doing a horrible job at adapting the series.  The sense of pacing is way too fast, a LOT of details are missing, the sense of the characters being BA is gone, etc.

Even so, it's still a great series, at least in my opinion.  Probably, a bunch of that is because I haven't read the novels, though..

I've kind of been avoiding the novels, but perhaps I should attempt to read up to date after each episode so that I get more information. I did this back when Persona 4 was airing and it actually helped me appreciate that anime more.

I've got to admit that I skimmed through the author's fanfiction chapter 16.5. It was pretty ridiculous, but I guess it proves that the genitals are a generic item that can be toggled on and off in the options menu.

So, wait.... You read through the "Fan fiction"16.5 (Lol, what, How do you even have"Fan fiction" if it's by the original author?) , but not the actual story?   And honestly, reading the novels won't give you an appreciation for the anime, instead it will make you hate it for the poor job it's doing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they kept their (more or less) physical appearance from the time they got stuck in the game, it basically means that a 14 years old and a 15 years old...

If it's not canon then it is just for the indulgence of the author himself. It was written about as well as a fanfiction love scene and thus I have dubbed it as such. LMFAO

Not much different from the real world now a days. Although having an older woman isn't quite as common. I think all that matters is that they are mentally older.

And even otherwise, it would still be 16 and 17.  But either way, this is a video game.  Yes, it may feel like real life, and you may die IRL if you die in the game, but it still is a game.
