Watched the episode earlier, absolutely loved it (and as all reasonable people expected, it's completely different from Sherlock). The crime in this is actually deviously clever, and...
Spoiler: Actual spoilers for the debut episode of Elementary here, don't read if you are going to watch it
I love mysteries where the crime is set up as a ticking time bomb that requires a methodical and developmental approach on the part of the criminal. The "matter of time" crime is something unique, in that it can be done in a way where there's no penalty if it doesn't work and yet if it does, it's a success for the criminal and becomes extremely difficult to not only trace back but even begin to investigate.
If this is the quality of mystery they'll continue to deliver on a weekly basis, I'm in.

A great start off. Hope they continue like this, different from Sherlock, as well as entertaining.

The episode was really great, though, I don't see why they based it on Sherlock, it could also work perfectly fine independently.

Yeah, It would but whenever there's controversy, there's also publicity.

well yeah. But names increase viewership, so why not give it a big one? :P

I was not expecting that. I'm going to go ahead and start recording it. I hope the mysteries are as interesting going out. And the fact that its set in my city is just icing on the cake.

The pilot is actually quite good. I like Miller's home - he seems like he's on speed most of the time. I hope they edit out the part when Watson freaks out and looks away seeing the corpse though - she was a surgeon after all. I really do hope Holmes and Watson won't be doing the whole "will they or won't they" thing. The mystery is really interesting, I hope they get better.

Opening someone up or seeing a cadaver is completely different from seeing a murder victim. Especially one which you did not expect to see.

If there's still a need for one, try here. I think, at least one of those links should work for you. :)

the dailymotion link still works for me when I tried it just now

anyway, watched this a few days ago, definitely liked it, but I totally shouldn't have because now I have to wait until the end of the month for the series to actually start up :<

The second episode is also satisfactory and definitely above than your average crime show. Some things like, the violin scene and "attic theory" related scenes are quite good.
