I wasn't into superhero movies until I watched some of the Marvel Universe stuff. It has everything. Badass battles with cool martial arts and explosions and awesome stunts, sometimes all in the same fight. Funny characters, especially Tony Stark. Badass characters every which way. Cute romances. Sexy romances. Robert Downey Jr. Scarlet Johansson. Cool technology. Angsty characters, especially Bruce Banner. Samuel L Jackson. Great internal continuity and cross-referencing. Foreshadowing and Chekhov's Guns out the wazoo. And aside from Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, they're all origin stories, which makes them accessibly to people who haven't read the comics.
In short, they have everything ever and they are wonderful. Did I mention that The Avengers is written by Joss Whedon? It is, and it is the greatest thing he has ever written. Yes, that includes Firefly. It's better than Firefly.

After getting into a car accident yesterday and being vehicle-less until I pick up a rental, this week wasn't really looking so great for me.
Today, I went shooting with one of my best friends. I don't get to see him much, and I haven't fired a gun in nearly two years, so that was awesome.
Tomorrow, I'm going to see Dark Shadows with my other best friend. They make up for the accident many times over and I couldn't ask for better friends.

Blackpool was brilliant fun, especially the Pasaje Del Terror. That was really well done and really spooky. I think they're more used to patrons running and screaming, though. Thanks to my little brother's sense of humour consisting for many years of "where's somewhere new I can jump out on my sister from?", my first reaction to somebody jumping out and roaring in my face it to roar right back.

although from what I hear when it comes to having girls, you have to wait around 14-15 years for the real pain to start
