The 14 adventurers, armed with their flash-lights, wavered them wildly around the giant lobby. A wide staircase led upstairs to a corridor leading to the wings. Atop the stairs was a painted portrait of a man in his forties, with a black moustache, sitting in an armchair, presumably the old owner. Lining the walls are many other paintings of random themes. Doors leading to different destinations lined the lower floor.

"Do we split? Should we split?" Newcomer asked nervously. Bless her, it's her first time on the field mission.

"Of course we split," replied Blaster. "Do you see how many doors there are?"

"Don't you worry," Caller said. "We've all been through this. It will only be a matter of time before you become a master yourself."

Newcomer gulped. "Okay... what's the plan?"

"What plan?" Windy laughed. "See, in this kind of business, there's really no 'plan'. At least not when we begin. We get acquainted and formulate the plan as we go."

"That sounds... difficult."

"Of course it is. You have to always keep a watch out for surprise happenings. Decision-making is so very important." Princess said.

"Well, I'll be checking upstairs," Early Cat spoke up.

"Aren't you always the first to take your pick," Hugger mumbled. "Well, best be on our way. Final check on the earpieces?"

Once they confirmed that everyone's earpiece was working, the group disbanded. Early Cat headed upstairs to the left wing's Master bedrooms, while Hugger went for the right. Princess went for the dining room, Caller took the kitchen and Windy took on the library. Cookie Ghost and Maiden chose the Ballroom and the Lounge respectively. Bunny Girl went to the game room, Moldy the gallery, Candy Panda the cellar, Blaster the music room, Reporter the office, while Latecomer checked the furnace room.

Left alone, the Newcomer scratched her head. "I guess I'll take on the bathroom," she mumbled as she got on her way.
