You're nuts.  It's far better than the first and third of the prior trilogy, as well as Iron Man 2.  I'd put this on a similar level to Batman Begins, but below Iron Man 1, Thor, and Captain America.  They just better get rid of those awful white-soled shoes on the costume in the second and third parts of the trilogy.

As for the other characters, they'll likely start showing up in the second movie.  The real question is who will be the 2nd movie's bad guy?  The hint at the end shows it'll either be Morbius, Electro, Chameleon, or Mysterio.

But, KL, that's how the story was written. As ginrei said, Gwen Stacy was Spider-Man's first love, and Mary-Jane didn't appear until... issue 25, I believe.

Now, she might appear in the next film, though. I think that it was Gwen that introduced Mary Jane and spider-man, if I recall?

Also, the movie was amazing. Made me tear up a couple of times. xD
