Re: *SPOILER FREE* Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files
Pff Scar Akai showing in front of Sera saying "You haven't changed a bit... Masumi..." with a face like that it's obvious it's not Akai -_-
Akai doesn't make such a "scary face" except in the beginning of its appearance. Sera will probably be "tricked" by SA believing he's the real Akai Shuuichi --'
Then Okiya (I hope!) will appear and confront Scar Akai and thus save Sera or will be stopped by Amuro (who can be Vermouth in disguise in my opinion). I'm not convinved just yet this Scar Akai is Vermouth just because we see Scar Akai speaking for the first time, it could be a red-herring by Gosho wanting us to believe SA=Vermouth. But Amuro most likely can't mimic Akai's voice so don't know maybe he's modifying it as much as he can. At first when Scar Akai glared at Haibara and that we saw Amuro right after I thought Amuro was Vermouth in disguise and Scar Akai was Amuro but the end of file 821 is confusing me more. -_-
But I'm not sure just hesitating. Plus Vermouth doing that kind of face and those eyes... just not her type I think even though she's evil this is much of evilness for Vermouth. XD
I'm also not convinced at 100% the Mystery Woman is Yukiko. Just wondering why would Yukiko be involved in an arc like this even though she's linked to Vermouth the plot turns around Bourbon, Akai, Akai's sister and Sherry. Not Vermouth and Yukiko. I've got nothing against Yukiko though. BUT it would be dangerous according to me for her to confront Vermouth. If the Mystery Woman is Kinoshita she could have said to Scar Akai when they crossed "stop the disguise now" or something like that since Okiya knows Scar Akai is on the train and may have explained it to her : that it is not the first time this guy is disguising as Akai. But well... maybe I'm all mistaken and this Scar Akai is Vermouth and the Mystery Woman is Yukiko, just that I'm not convinced at all yet.

Re: *SPOILER FREE* Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files
The evidence list I have going for Scar Akai being Vermouth this time around is:
•Gin only mentioned two members of the Black Org being on the train: Vermouth and Bourbon. If Amuro is Bourbon, Scar Akai has to be Vermouth if Scar Akai is a Black Org member.
•Scar Akai starts talking in front of people who know Akai's voice when he has avoided it before. We know that Bourbon probably can't mimic voices because Scar Akai avoided speaking in front of Jodie and Camel (Bourbon was disguised as SA at those times). Vermouth mimics voices, and may have needed to do so if Bourbon and Vermouth planned on using the Scar Akai disguise to entrap Sera - this is probably Bourbon's plan to try to lure Akai out who he thinks may be escorting Shiho (recall the non-Vermouth Black Org think the FBI and Shiho are working together.).
•Gin got a message confirming Shiho was on the train from Vermouth. Only Vermouth knows Ai is Shiho, and Scar Akai openly glared at Haibara. Amuro who came up afterwards didn't seem to notice. This assumes that Okiya and his lady friend are good guys.
Not included as a point •Amuro texted someone right as Masumi ran by alone. Not much later, she ran into Scar Akai which suggests that Amuro was signaling Scar Akai that it was a good time to intercept her.

Re: *SPOILER FREE* Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files
I think the twist here is that you have one of Conan's allies in disguise rather than a BO member. In addition, Akai may have had plastic surgery (and dyed his hair or something) to become Okiya. If he were seen alive, that would jeopardize Kir so there's a reason to believe either it's a permanent change or his disguise won't unravel in front of the BO.cute Ran wrote:
Do not tell me that Akai ''skilled '' in the ''disguised ''

if okiya is really Akai
Will prove Gosho that he ''Failure'' In '' Authoring'' and he Bankrupt from the Ideas
What I find weak about this plotline is that, in the Halloween arc, Vermouth lured Ai into a trap. Here, because Bourbon does not know Ai is Shiho, he had to wait for the chance opportunity to present itself. It kind of makes Bourbon seem passive compared to the cavalier personality the BO seems to attribute to him.
It would also suggest Okiya isn't Bourbon. Okiya knows Ai is Shiho from his comment on sisters thinking alike. As far as we know, and what seems to be the case, is that Gin and Vodka are waiting for Shiho to be delivered in the steel snake, not Ai. We know that Vermouth decided not to reveal her knowledge of Ai's real identity up till now.

chekov, I saw your explanation, although I didn't go through all the details. I don't want to be completely unsurprised when Gosho reveals his plot. It's interesting & made me stay awake last night, thinking about your suggested solution!

Didn't you know Chekhov makes people stay awake super late at night because of her theories.

you know I thought the door had a smaller opening. So it was one link shorter I was trying to figure out if the bolt was done incorrectly. Ended up dismissing it as different angles.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:sushimaster wrote: I am rereading the chapters & some things still go unexplained:
Credit to Detective Kudo at DCW for pointing this out:
8B's chain lock has 6 links. 8E's has 5.
I updated my previous case solution guess to explain this, but will not link it again in the interest of letting people work it out for themselves

He should be just a random character. He's steward and just there to provide information IMHO.kkakaroto9 wrote: Who is this Man? :

I can't see the pic myself, but I'm guessing roughly from the page number that it's the one with the random-guy-wearing-glasses? If so, he could be random-disguised-Billly/Yuusaku, but it's more likely atm he's just a randomer...

Re: *SPOILER FREE* Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files
I forgot to mention one thing why I can't really accept the Mystery Woman=Yukiko theory, is that Ran already mentioned that Shinichi's mother could be the Mystery Woman when Sera said that a woman is hiding in Shinichi's house.
I think it would be too obvious it was Yukiko since Ran mentioned it. But then it could be a double trick :/
Anyway, I'd be a little disappointed to see that the Mystery Woman is Yukiko and that she's involved in an arc like this...

The Sera conversation was imo. only there to drive Ran's suspicion and to give Ran tips how she can collect proof.

Re: *SPOILER FREE* Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files 818+ "Mystery Train"
When you approach this arc fully knowing exactly who is who, it kinda feels like everyone is a bit less competent than usual, especially on the B.O. side.
I'm a bit sad about the mystery woman's identity. While it's the most logical one (and the one that almost everyone thought about), it's just yet another repetition that we've seen already.
By the way, I didn't spot any mention about the conductor's uniforms that disappeared. Was it referenced, or was it still not explained/revealed (here's still hope for Kaito Kid, or perhaps that was the stuff in the suitcase Vermouth kicked out of the train)

Re: *SPOILER FREE* Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files
The thing that intrigues me the most is the can under the chair on page 008, my hunch is that it is either a flashbang or a real bomb intended to breach the engine/driver room by knocking out the guard, planted by the BO group on board(Vermouth and Bourbon), it probably can be remotely triggered with a cellphone. I wonder when they are going to use it.
I don't know if it just got blurred b/c of the scan but the passenger list(for Car 5) Vermouth was looking through have two name that have 2 kanji character in the family name and 1 kanji character in given name, the only known onboard character with that type of name is Okiya Subaru(Kanji:沖矢 昴). So the Hat Lady's alias is the other name for either room A,C or H since they are in the same room. I wonder if the original is clear enough for you to see the name.
