Elfin Lied Anime/Manga

Just finished reading the manga and watching the anime series of Elfin Lied..

I never thought this anime is going to be so awesome..

anybody who have read or watched Elfin Lied here..?

I've seen the anime, but I can't say anything really good about it. The only thing it really had going for it at all was the gore, but even then I thought it was pretty underwhelming. There's more to making scenes that make you go "whoa this is violent/gruesome" than drawing a lot of red everywhere, imo.

Also, whenever the main character was in ditz-mode and going "nyu" (or was it "nya"?) all over the place like a pokemon it pretty much drove me insane.

I read the manga around a year ago and I thought it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but I didn't think it was anything great. Plus the art for the first couple volumes was just terrible...

I haven't seen the anime though I do plan to, but from what I've heard the manga is better, so I'm not really expecting much aside from it being prettier.

Manga was fantastic. Loved it.

Anime was very pretty, very well animated, but overall a flop in comparison to the manga. It tried to do things that the manga did, but failed.
