Well she doesn't tell anything to Conan so I think it's pretty understandable he does the same. I wouldn't tell everything to someone who is obviously unwilling to tell me anything.
Well the difference being is that she does it so he doesn't do something dumb, and he doesn't so she can't keep him from doing something dumb.
Plus, Ai doesn't hire people to stalk Conan.
Basically, she's guided by fear while Conan is guided by temerity, to each his own I guess. I tend to like the unconscious more than the wimp (even if, to be fair, there has been some progression on that side in the last few cases), it makes for a more interesting story.
Well she could if she wanted but I'd be pretty useless since Conan would most likely notice it immediately.

"I wonder if there really is a God...
If such an entity really existed, wouldn't all honest, hard-working people be happy?"
Hence why Ai does it herself, but I tend to support the fear that's based on something. Strikes me as person with shell shock vs person who grew up on pro-us propaganda , the former just knows more.

If this wasn't a work of fiction, I would agree with you. But like I said I think you get a better story with someone who's ready to take action and progress even irrationally sometimes than with someone who cries in a corner.

Because the movie The Green Berets was much better than Born On the Fourth of July (though that was after irrational fighting).
EDIT: But the thing between them is that these are both in the same thing together, and Conan is very willfully ignoring her comments despite that she knows these people much better. He is a 7-year-old right now, after all.

Both were such great detective movies...

She's also willfully ignoring his legitimate desire to get his body back. In the end they both seem to be defending what they see as their own interests and nothing more...

Oh well excuse me, I didn't know you mean only detective movies, which makes less sense because detectives are supposed to act on knowledge... but okay.
Spoiler: Detective Movie/Book Spoilers
Oh well, there's Maltese Falcon... he died. Bad Lieutenant... he died too. Um, Nick Curran... who fell for everything.
Oh, Rollo Martins! He actually was a writer not a detective.

I didn't mean only detective movies, that was just me ironising about you bringing up what you could call historical movies (or so called historically based), one of which was used as pro-war propaganda, and comparing them to a detective Shônen manga who's main hero will basically survive to anything.

I was just reading file 820 and i realised that Conan probably knows that BO is on the train... On page 4 he gets really angry at the DB and tells them to lock their doors and not to let anyone in.. ( probably to protect them)
So the message he got was either Vermouth or the mystery woman... So Conan may actually know the mystery woman..
If I had to choose, I'd say black because it is a color that covers things inside me that I don't want known. Well, I hate the color black for the same reason as well.
Well just read the double release and wow I don't know what going on anymore. Good to see Gosho hasn't forgotten the tape recording but what's this with silver bullet? And the way Sera just looked menacingly at Conan because there's no way of escaping ahh man so confused right now. Oh and can't wait to see how Conan solves it
Okiya: "hey Shiho come into this area with all my (possbily) FBI bros and we'll help you out and maybe have some tea"
Haibs: "YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE, ORGANIZATION SCUM!" *flees*
Okiya: "..."
anyway if people are still operating under the "Amuro=Scar Akai" mindset, this might explain why the scar's unusually big in these last few files, since it would have to be someone other than him this time around and they might've done the disguise slightly differently.
