Yes the coroner would have discovered it but it's difficult to say if they could blame the death on drowning and who knows how many red herrings I haveM.Holmes wrote: My second theory would have actually been along the lines of MDavid's, except I would have added to the proof that he isn't what he says he is because:
There's far too many illogical elements to his story for him not to be guilty, unless they were added intentionally as a red herring.Spoiler:
Question: If asphyxiation had been induced by drowning, the coroner would a discovered that, correct?
I guess that the murder weapon could be a pillow but you can't be sure they're dead.sstimson wrote:A thought but missing the murder weapon. Think pillow over face.lucky777 wrote: Good idea with the use of dry ice but not the right one
In my murder method you don't have to be there to kill them of asphyxiation.

Just a guess,
Where were all the victims body found ? (If the location is relevant to solving this case)

That's pretty much it, except instead of ice cubes the killer used frozen snow balls and he just stuffed them into his throat.kuttu555 wrote: Just a guess,Where were all the victims body found ? (If the location is relevant to solving this case)Spoiler:
And the conclusion is below in story format:
Conan noticed that even though the suitcase was supposed to be water proof only the inside was wet as the table was still dry after its inspection meaning that suspect 1 lied. Since the suitcase was water tight the water must have come from within it, but there was nothing to indicate where the water came from. Who carries water in a suitcase? So the killer must have disposed of the source of the water, most likely in the toilet or somewhere else. Conan also thought it was strange how all his victims died of asphyxiation instead of the injuries. Leading to the idea asphyxiation must have happened soon after the victims went unconscious. The killer only appeared on cold dark nights, using this as a basis he assumed the trick could only work if it was cold.
If it's cold then what would last longer? The first thing that comes to mind is ice or snow. If the culprit carried snow or ice they'll last longer in the cold. Also once the culprit drowned them in snow or ice then he could just leave them and wait for the ice or snow to melt. Plus once the snow and ice melted the water would flow through the esophagus and if any did flow into the lungs the coroner wouldn't be able to determine that they died from drowning as the when someone dies from drowning typically the body would stop access to the lungs by blocking the airway and the water would flow to the esophagus. When opened again the water taken in may not be enough to determine if they drowned or not.
The paper was also wet indicating that it was near water, again there was no source of water in his suitcase so it must have been disposed of. The wet crumpled paper could have been used to wrap the snow ball to increase the time it took to melt.
Even if they didn't die of asphyxiation they would've died from the injuries anyway. He also noticed that the pipe had no fingerprints so either he wiped it off or used something to prevent him leaving prints, perhaps the killer used a bag or some other item but with the evidence so far it's best not to assume.
Conan needed to have definitive proof, if they check the victim now then perhaps they can find some traces of snow, then that would be proof as none of the other victims carries anything that indicates water.
Snow was found within the last victim and with Conan deduction (via explanation from a sleeping Kogorou) suspect 1 was arrested. Until he was shot. He fell bleeding, Conan sprinted as fast as he could, he looked around locating the source of the gun but to no avail. The dying man last words were "Ghost."
Yeah I'm gona carry this story on later.
I see what you did there

Ahh, I thought about ice cubes but I wasn't sure if the coroner would be able to tell whether they drowned or they choked.
Who's going to come up with the next one?

Re: Kogorous Riddle Thread and eworms Deduction Thread
I'm not sure I understand this one. Is there supposed to be something mysterious or impossible about how he was hanged? Because it seems like he could have just been carried up the boxes and hung from there.

Re: Kogorous Riddle Thread and eworms Deduction Thread
There is most definitely some mysterious way he was hanged, the weight of two adults going up the boxes would cause them to collapse.
