The consistency is a bit lacking IMHO. I'm hoping this cuts back on the "Scar Akai is a different person because his scar looks different this time"-type theories because it looks different all the time.

A bit? Is it even the same in any two shots? I mean, the length seems to vary between jaw bone and chin (though most seem to aim to get around even with the lips), the origin from temple to under the eye (though it seems to mostly be from the temple), and the angle from arcing left to arcing right (appears to usually arc left, but not as consistently as the other two factors).
Possible Gosho gave the newest Scar Akai appearance a bigger scar, because that curly hair was in the way. So if it would have been shorter, it could have been harder to spot for the readers (mistaken as shadow?)
Or it's a hint that the scar etc. is a mask XD

the scar's just starting to grow, soon Scar Akai will be revealed as Harvey Dent.
Personally i think it's all the same person because who ever Scar Akai really is they seem to prefer designer clothing. If i remember correctly that was a designer knit cap he was sporting when Jodi saw him the one time and now he's got a coat on with a fedora and a jacket with a fancy cut. He's not shopping at the Japanese equivalent of Walmart.
