I'm with Commi. Tho maybe not killing her off completely, but like, she'll go into comma and thus Conan and Akai become more serious.

A coma? Our we just gonna go through all the soap opera twists? She gonna get pregnant next? Amnesia? Her evil twin Edwardo tries to steal Agasa's money?

(Plus she's gotten seriously hurt in the past and it didn't seem to put Conan off his game much. )

It also raises the question of how to kill her; 7 bullets didn't do it last time and she was letting herself get shot. I think they'll need like the Enola Gay or something.

Gin didn't intend to kill her immediately at Haido City Hotel, it is apparent that just killing her won't be enough for him then, he needs to thoroughly torture Sherry then execute her. Vermouth on the other hand just want her dead.

What bothers me the most is that Ai doesn't really play a big part in the story during the last few cases

....did you miss the part where she took the antidote last case and turned back into Sherry? That was a pretty darn big part imo.

We've already had one implausible coma in this series. XD And yeah, I definitely don't think Haibara needs LESS to do or she'll just fade away. (Plus she's gotten seriously hurt in the past and it didn't seem to put Conan off his game much. )

With regard to the case, is anyone else deeply disturbed by Kogoro having an info-box? O.o What in the world?

Really, they always make it look like Haibara is in danger. But then Gosho makes this "danger" look harmless, because she's almost never get's hurt besides in that one case. Once she's really in danger, and actually hurt too (the shots, Pisco case), she's shown a bit having bandages, and the next case they are already healed.
Conan was shot ONCE and was almost dead + he was shown in the hospital + there were people worried about him + there was more story after that etc.

This clearly shows that females can endure more pain.
But Haibara isn't allowed to have some story after being hurt/in danger?

During the Vermouth arc, she was even locked up so she wouldn't be in danger...

Imagine, that Haibara got hurt and has to go to the hospital (and doesn't get treated at home. Sure, you can treat bullet shots at home, no problem at all :x)
Conan would be worried, Ran and DBs would interact with her, even Okiya/Akai could come out and talk with her + apologize and whatnot
Even if she's not able to move, interaction wise, there could be done a lot

There´s a big, let´s say "problem", with Ai dying. If she really does die, I can imagine 3, 4 episodes mourning for her and remembering her but then what? 100 more random episodes until the next arc like if nothing had happened? Either way, I think after this arc ends the storyline will develop rather quickly, for me DC is reaching it´s end.

For apologizing I thought more about letting her get hurt. Since he's supposed to be her stalker bodyguard. But that's good too I guess? XD
