Detective Conan referenced in Other Anime

On the anime Level-E, the surname of the girl and her father is Edogawa and the lab where her father works is called Conan.

Possibly another DC reference in YuGiOh, 5Ds, this time- Jaeger's son is wearing Conan's outfit.

Although, more importantly... why the crap does his ENTIRE FAMILY wear that reject clown makeup? Jaeger himself is weird enough, but his relatively sweet, quiet and generally normal wife and son too?!

Actually, a flashback in the next episode reveals Jaeger to be from a circus family. Though one wonders why he's still allowed to wear that makeup while working for Public Security. Dress codes don't exist in the future?

Jaeger's parents have blue hair, too. I'm not sure where that went. Possibly they just all have black hair and permanent weird hair dye is really easy to get in the future. I think he does actually have black eyebrows.

Wait, it does have genetics! Yusei got his batshit crazy hair from his father. Some of it. The gravity-defying spikes seem to be hereditary, anyway. No idea where the blond streaks came from.

Why does every anime dismiss the idea of genetics?

Strictly speaking, it is possible for hair colors to skip a generation or two. For example, my teacher in 6th grade had two red headed kids, when both her and her husband had black hair, and so did their parents. I believe it was something like one or two of the grandparents had red hair, so it skipped 2 generations.

now, as for the pink and purple hair colors....I'll give you that one, lol.


As for Conan references, when I was staying with a host family in Japan, my host mom showed me the year book for my older brothers college. He went to a college called "Konan University" and in the year book, there was a page decorated with the signature Conan brick wall, with a terrible drawing of Conan. It was funny XD
