I was being extreme there, actually. I just don't think these bright colors fit HxH. The suspense/intense atmosphere York Shin arc had was awesome.
And besides, they have already cut the violence a bit. They won't animate Chimera Ants (too freaking violent).

I was talking about the older version; I haven't been watching the remake.

Superman = Captain America > Aquaman = Hal Jordan > Wonder Woman > Barry Allen > Thor > Martian Manhunter > The Hulk > Wasp > Hawkeye > [power gap] > Iron Man = Batman > [power gap] > Hank Pym

Yes, because Hisoka's shining crotch in the ending theme, and screamo music is definetly suited for little kids!leokiko wrote: The remake is for little kids. Watch the 1999 version.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure in ep. 16 Hisoka had an orgasm. But that doesn't matter because adult males do that all the time in cartoons!

Re: Anime Recommendation Thread
I stopped reading that after you said York Shin despite it being a blatant New York reference just to be superweeaboo and use japanese words or some crap like that, I don't know or care.
And the director or someone basically said they are actively making sure the censorship is only the necessary minimum so...?
Your opinion would be far more valid if the old anime had an ending. Or if there were actual, consistent notable changes outside of the brightness (and Reborn! is proof that that doesn't mean things can't get creepy).

No. All of that stuff actually happened in this version.leokiko wrote:...alicetama wrote:Yes, because Hisoka's shining crotch in the ending theme, and screamo music is definetly suited for little kids!leokiko wrote: The remake is for little kids. Watch the 1999 version.

This quote^leokiko wrote: I was being extreme there, actually. I just don't think these bright colors fit HxH. The suspense/intense atmosphere York Shin arc had was awesome.
I have watched this remake and the original. I watched episode 16 2 times already and the original 3 times (a few arcs entirely). So yea, I know what happen or didn't happen in this or the old version ::)
And...it is still to bright and colorful for me. They are adaptating it better and more faithfully but...we will have to wait since I have no points here unless we reach York Shin arc. I merely making assumptions, not points(the hunter exam is a light arc, straight-on Shounen). And the older one ended AFTER THE OVAS, which you probably didn't watch. After Greed Island, it ended because there was no more material to continue on....now there is.(it was still a decent ending at least). Full CA arc + Alluka/Chairman's election arc. And about the director: They said this was going to be a lighter version of HxH right from the beggining and they announced a change in Hisoka's personality.
Also, so what it's a NY reference? The arc is good, that is all, I don't care about anything else.

Re: Anime Recommendation Thread
I was actually taking back what I said earlier, since I was just joking around. I said I was too extreme in that quote. And I never said I actually had a point, I only expressed my opinion while comparing the original vs remake up until now.
So far, the original wins.

The BGM in the original is way cooler, but that's just my opinion xDCoolKid3 wrote:Except for the music, that is. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, FTW!leokiko wrote: So far, the original wins.

Re: Anime Recommendation Thread
Occupation-inspired anime
I am looking for an anime series that reflects the way of life of a certain professional / worker (excluding Detective series / Police). Preferably series which are mature and to some extent realistic.
Series I've seen that fit the description above are as follows:
(1) Bartender (Bartender)
(2) Salaryman Kintaro (Office Worker)
(3) Gallery Fake (Curator) - Currently at Episode 3
Thanks in advance!
