Extended episode 11 was awesome.  Gilgamesh acknowledging Rider as worthy enough to be called by title rather than simply as "mongrel", Archer cracking the eff up at Saber getting mentally broken, is choice of words for such a face she made, it was all great.

I read in wikipedia that the motive of this hiatus is because they wanted to make better the animation. REALLY? It´s  already awesome xD What will it be, 3D?!

It's not so much to "make it better", but rather to "keep the quality high".  Many series skimp on animation due to time restraints, but UFOtable believes in quality, so they'd rather put a break in to give themselves more time.

Should I watch Fate/Stay night ( which I hear isn't that great) before just jumping into Fate/Zero ?

It might help explain a little more about the Grail War itself, but I don't think it's really necessary.  Now, I would suggest the game, if only because it's amazing while the anime isn't, and it'd be a shame to spoil the game with all the spoilers for it that Zero throws at you (especially as far as the Heaven's Feel route goes).

I'd rather watch the anime and THEN play the VN, simply because that's just how I like to do things.  Basically I just don't want to be confused as f, and is watching Stay/Night worth it.  I mean is it really that bad?

Thing is, the anime spoils major plot points about the heaven's feel route, because it assumes you've played it, seriously man, play the VN first, you'll be more confused if you watch the anime first

It's not bad, it's just outside of one episode I'd say it's barely average.  They use the Realta Nua plot replacers to remove the sex scenes (removing sex scenes is fine, but the way they do it makes absolutely no freaking sense, especially since they don't change the plot that builds off of the fact that there was sex), and it's just generally boring.  When I first watched the series, I stopped after a few episodes and didn't pick it up again until over a year later when the UBW movie was announced.  After finishing it, I picked up the VN because it was just so obvious that things had been tampered with.

But yeah, Zero spoils the hell out of Heaven's Feel, even in the first episode.  Spoilers, as far as the eye can see.

I was exactly like you ranger when people first told me to do the VN rather than the anime, due to never readin a VN previously and just preferring anime in general. But after readin the VN and then a synopsis of the anime after on wikipedia, I'm glad I just went through the VN first, even though it gets pretty damn weirdly creepy at certain points in Heaven's Feel.

Really nice 1st episode Not disappointed. I guess Saber will use Excalibur in the following episode.
