Yeah I knew about that before, I always remembered in the pokedex it said Gengar was a shadow of a pokemon...hmmm :O

There's a bunch of little easter eggs and mysteries in the Pokemon universe; there used to be an image that contained all these interesting tidbits but I don't know where it is anymore.

Something that's interesting is in that in the original red/blue games there was this girl that described some polka dot pink pokemon to exist, which it didn't back then.  And then in Gen 5, it existed. 0_0 spot on description too.  I forget the name, it's a psychic pokemon, looks like a fluffy pink thingy.  Starts with M

Munna, you mean? Yeah, in Gen I a girl wishes for a pink Pokemon with a flower pattern. Four gens later... Spring Form Deerling may count too.

Also, once I realized that Porygon-Z's head is on upside-down and that thing I assumed was some kind of horn is its neck, it got significantly creepier.

I have found that many a time while reading Pokemon entries there are some pretty creepy things, many of which are touched upon in the Nightmare Fuel section of the tropes.

I just find it fascinating that Pokemon of all places has hidden edginess that is at times extremely dark.

A favourite of mine is the hole thing about Shedinja taking the soul of anyone who looks into the hole in its back. GUESS WHAT'S FACING YOU WHEN YOU SEND IT OUT IN BATTLE?

The Nightmare Fuel page about Pokemon is absolutely staggering for a "Kid's show/game". I mean, Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist combined have smaller pages.
