I believe in some cases, such as Tequila, he only have to "attempts" it, while in others, such as Sherry's, her kill actually have to happen for the killing action to take effect. It's stated under the abilities section.

I guess the majority won't be able to accomodate the new time change so I'll just leave it where it is then.
