I used to have a goldfish named Goldie. I won her at a fair when I was seven. Despite being a funfair goldfish, she lived to be five years old.

We also used to have a dog named Suki. We adopted her when she was about twelve, so she was pretty old anyway. She was the sweetest thing, and liked sleeping on people's laps to get cuddles. She essentially got doggy dementia a couple of years later and we had to put her down because she was starving to death because she was frightened of her own food bowl T_T

My parents own quite a few cats. (I think the total now is 4?) We refuse to declaw them because it lowers their ability for self-defense should they ever go outside and/or run away. I don't have pictures because I'm at college and I hardly ever see them anymore.  :(

Since I'm a budding writer, I'll use typical character descriptions. (spoilered to shorten post)
Spoiler:
1. Male; 3-4 years old. Name: Mr. Gray. Almost no fur, never cleans himself, long-legged, and weighs 18 pounds (American lbs). What little fur he has is gray and he has a bad eye he can apparently barely see out of, which prevents him from going outside. Very playful, but annoys the other cats to the max. Thinks that everything he does is a game, and does not hold grudges, but is easily spooked. Despite his weight, he is extremely hard to catch for a trip to the vet.

2. Female; 16-17 years old. Name: Puffy. Complete opposite of Mr. Gray. Playful when roused, which is rare, since she sleeps all the time. Hates me; will attack on sight. Long, sleek fur of a grayish color with white muzzle. Light enough to hold in one hand, but not recommended due to her heart condition.

3. Female; 16-17 years old. Name: Dipstick 'Dippy'. Sister to Puffy, they look nothing alike. Dippy is also physically fit for her age, and frequently goes outside and hunts anything smaller than her that moves. Occasionally divebombed by birds. For some reason, she adores me, but is scared to death of any type of fan. No, we didn't name her; our neighbors left her behind when they moved. Does not consider Mr. Gray enough of a threat to attack.

4. I have only seen this cat once, so I know little about it. It was a stray that wandered onto our friend's doorstep, but it was too violent for her, so she passed it off to us (as of last weekend, on the last day of my spring break). The cat has bushy orange, yellow, and white fur and has been declawed. My parents' emails indicate that it bites a lot, which means we can't go near it until we give it its shots. Both its gender and age are unknown to me.
If you were somehow patient enough to read all four of those, then I salute you.  ;D We used to have dogs, but the last one passed away five years ago and we don't get many stray dogs where we live.
Knowing the truth and knowing what to do with the truth are two completely separate ideas. Learn to distinguish them. OR ELSE.

We used to have two cats, one female and her son. However, she was put to sleep this year and he gets into fights all the time.

Phew, where to get started...
When I was a baby mum had a cat... But she died after I became one.
Then when I was five we got the then four year old Dikkiedik (formerly Eddy, now 18) and Tjakkierits (formerly Joyce, now 18).
Spoiler:

When I was seven I got the small tortoise kitten Snoepie, named after Snoopy. A friend of my mum's had a litter and she was the last one left, I had been begging for a kitten for ages so my mum gave in and brought her home. I was in love with Snoepie. I could do everything with her, she'd even come when I'd call her name. Sadly she died on my eighth birthday before she was one year old due to unknown reasons.
Somewhere around that time I got a tank with fishes, we had those for several years.
Less than a year later, though, my mum's friend's cat had another litter and my mum decided I could get another kitten. That, however, didn't go as planned as we ended up taking two kittens, Harry Potter (yes, I named him that, I was addicted ok?) and Teuntje. (both are 12)

After that my dad got ill... stuff happened... We gave up on the fishes...
Then one day, during my eighth year of elementary school, I saw on the news that many cats were put in the animal shelters and they were getting filled to the point they couldn't take them in any more. I just had to save one, resulting into getting Sweety (8).
Spoiler:

That's all, after that mum and I swore not to get more cats.
