here is a riddle from a computer game I played once (don't remember what game it was...)

Nine are we when taken all three.
Last one slain, then six remain.
None survive, our first less five.

There are three numbers. Write them in the correct order.

if someone wants to know:

nine are we when taken all three - there are three numbers and together they make nine

last one slain, then six remain - we take away the last number and then we have the other two numbers which make six. therefore, the last number is three

none survive, our first less five - none survive means zero. our first means the first number. so in order to make X-5=0 the number needs to be five.

the last remaining number (second in order) is obviously one
