from what I understand, it should be ending relatively soon.

I hope so, even as a fan I know it peaked around volume 10, which is bad for long running shonen.

oh btw, Sasuke Retrieval arc is still meh. Need to keep saying that until it's common knowledge. Only the beginning and big Sasuke vs. Naruto fight were worthy of a halfway point climax or even a canon Naruto arc.

the moment he abandoned the village, I knew he would either become good and/or die at the very end of the series. Kinda obvious that's how it has to end.

Don't be ridiculous.  There are no females in this series.  Sasuke x Naruto has been set up since like... chapter 3.  And he's already given up on reviving his clan!

Note, this is only half serious because of how horribly the females are handled.  I used to like Sakura before her character assassination during the 5-kage arc.
