Need ideas for my first fanfic...

I'm not very good at making up good mysteries...
I need help!
I need someone to give me ideas of good mysteries
( I need at least 4 cases ,which include 3 single murder cases and one serial murder case in some party with Mouri's,Conan ,Heiji and Kazuha present. I also need at least two KID heists for Conan & co, I could fit more but those are needed)

I need trick,motive and names/backgrounds for suspects and victims...and Kid heists need jewel names and place of heist.

okay got the first case down...I hope it's good enough...


Please help poor idiot me! I have good storyboard ready... ( well why else I would need precise amount of mysteries?)
I think it would be best to PM me...or if you don't mind someone other than me using it,then here...
Ok I got few tips and advice's...but I still need bunch of good japanese names for suspects/victims/random people, hopefull nice backgound stories
if someone wants to know how my fic would go...

the story takes place after Bourbon arc,Bourbon has been captured and he's in Coma (Bolded are ready

1.intro and something inside Ran's and someone else's mind
2.Ran and Shinichi's conversation on the phone and someone listening very interesting conversation
3.1st case billiard hall Kaito/Aoko cards are deadly...
4.1st case conclusion and call continues beware dying man's ingenuity
5-6.some epicness...mostly Ran POV (spoiler! Ran plays detective and so does someone else...)
7-8. small nonmurder case-Ran gets to see some things (Conan notices Ran's increasing odd behavior)
9.Ran planning & is about to do something major at the end when...OSAKA PAIR COMES!
10-12.2nd case with Heiji & Kazuha- they came to invite them to party they were invited to solve mystery
13-20 serial murders at the party! (Conan finally gets visibly suspicious that Ran knows/is suspicious)
20-22 serial aftermath, Kid note & riddle solving Aoko visits the detective agency and girls have talk...beware boys...
22-27 Kid 1st heist-a lot happens ,I hope... Kid gets caught...but not in a bad way...hehehe...
28-30 Shinichi! Detective is back for 3 days...(yay new longer lasting antidote!) Ran's confession! but about what?
31-> Shinichi's last day & 2nd KID heist by Suzuki's challenge!Kid saves boiling detective.
They'll have their talk & realize they both had been had...BY GIRLS 
Epicness again...until
40-> 3rd case and Conan notices someone from BO in police (email address) and once again gets wind of their plans...

sometime after 2n KID heist Hakuba returns from England where he's discovered something major...and he goes straight to Kuroba's...only to find...bloody mess!WTF? btw Akako will be on bystander's role as I don't want her to do any supernatural stuff so...she watches...and makes some Epic situations more epic

I don't know how long this fic'll be but...We'll see...

Please don't be offended but I'm just curious why do you feel you need complete mysteries in your fanfic if you don't like writing mysteries?

I think it'll be neat even if you don't go into detail

kirite has a point :V For instance, I have a fanfic where around 43 of 45 chapters have nothing to do with mysteries. And those two that have mysteries were really sloppy :X I think as long as there's some effort put forward, people will like it \o/

Also, can you explain your problem on FF? I know that anytime you start a new story you have to agree to the rights and such, could that be it?

Let's see if I can help with the problem:
When you log in it should automatically go to your account settings and such.
To the left under the 'Publish' button you'll have to hit New Story and fill out all the things required (including accepting the rights).
Once that's done, then you go to the Doc Manager (also under publish) and post your text file into there
Then you'll have to go to Manage Stories (also under publish) and hit the Edit button that's beside whatever you called your New Story
It's pretty straightforward how to add the chapter from your Doc Manager

I hope the above isn't just obvious things and may help to solve the problem

I have trouble with murder mysteries too. My best tip is to work backwards; pick the murder method and work backwards from there. Murderer's motive can be inserted later with a piece of damning evidence.

That said, I don't think I write very good murders... it's why I tended to skip them entirely where possible in APT.

Yeah, this usually seems to be the best method.

I'd say don't even think of names/gender/anything until you've got method down. Then you can think of motive and such

Motives are easy to make up. It's vengeance or money.

I always put mine in Rich Text Format. You've probably tried that, but if you have that just raises more questions.

I always write my stuff in MS Word. It works just fine... You're definitely not uploading stuff in DocX, right?

ok never mind...I actually managed to upload one doc as a test...very short one...weird...
well now I know it works...perhaps I should now focus on this story I needed help for...
it's my idea how DC would end ...but I still need at least names...

Microsoft word,Openoffice, wordpad and few of my dad's programs on his computer...
I finally managed with OpenOffice after uninstalling it and then downloading it again...it worked.
.Odt finally got accepted...don't know why it didn't before...

Just putting in my two cents' worth:

I've had the same problem a couple times before. I usually work on a Mac, using MS Word, so my files are saved with the .docx extension by default. Generally, saving another copy of the file in .doc format and reuploading it works for me. (Oddly enough, I don't have this problem when working on Windows...)

As for the cases... well, hate to say this, but just look at shows like CSI and stuff. IMO, the cases get really predictable after you've watched about ten episodes or so, yet people still love watching it. I'd say that it's definitely not the cases that make the story - so don't get too hung up over it same goes for details like names and stuff, I think you could try name generator sites (such as http://www.behindthename.com/random/) or just look up lists of Japanese first/last names (I think Wikipedia and some other sites have lists of common ones, and some baby name sites also have them listed by category) and start from there.

Good luck! I agree with all of them... And watch a lot of police dramas to get inspiration. This is such a cop out (lol at the pun :p) but you can always take an episode and make that as an inspiration like just exchange several details and stuff. Like Cluedo. Such and such was killed in blah blah room using the leaad pipe. Then it all gets switched but a new story comes out of it.

it isn't that easy...what kind of murder could happen in billiard hall with 17 year old as a suspect?

and how would they end up working with DC gang?
I want to be unique and that's why it's so hard to come up with things...
I have planned 2nd normal  murder case and the serial murder case but I'm having problems that how to present enough but not too many clues...working backwards helped in those cases but still it's hard...

should I make the 1st case an accidental?or should it be planned?
poison or physical trauma?blunt weapon or knife?Or even playing card?(that would be unique at least)

and I do watch police dramas...well CSI mostly..
but that's the problem...I have WAY too many ideas and they all want to come into this...
it's funny...first I didn't have any idea and now I'm overflowing with them...

omg my 4th persona got control for few minutes as I hit my head awhile ago...
but it seems that one got few ideas down...which one of the above should I use?
