I have to vent. The final chapters of Yakitate Japan has been translated and the series is finally complete to the English-speaking public (besides the anime version). The last few chapters that make up the final "arc" (if you could call it that) is terrible, and not necessary at all. I mean...
Spoiler:
why would anyone think of using "Kazuma to save the world from global warming" plot after everything ended? Kazuma defeated the super evil bread, saved his first bread-making teacher (who had inspired him to make the most wonderful bread of all), saved his boss' (and possible lover's) family, pride, and honor. The celebration in the end about the super bread could possibly explain that one can do anything, or the fact that breads can be made to perfection by following the traditional ways.
The mangaka is just extending the story for almost pointless reason that makes the terrible puns at the end forced. If anyone see the problem any other way, I want to hear you out.
WHEW! My anger's dissipated a bit, but the forceful ending is still etched in my mind.
It seems those who watched only the anime version may have had a better ending!!! without knowing the manga in this case!
The story was good while it lasted......good bread types and made me hungry during those nights! especially the first few episodes where he made the thin bread resembling the fuji mountain to be eaten with nice japanese curry..!
