Actually it happened once before :3

Well, well, it seems interesting how people start to create more... advanced riddles.
Look, this is the first time I've ever written a riddle! I worked hard on this and I know it's not perfect! If I'm going to get a comment like this every time I post here I'm not going to bother to even glance at this thread any more!

Wait, what? Why are you getting upset? I said nothing to criticize you or your riddle in any way, did I?

^ I'm sorry I blew up on you like that but the way you worded that made you sound very condescending. I don't have the benefit of hearing you talk so I can't use your tone of voice as an indication of intent.

Two cents here. Suutashi, to me any way, Eworm is giving you a POSITIVE not negative comment. You should in my option take that as a compliment.

As for your riddle I got a feeling that this part of the riddle is key

I seek change during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace. It is one of the three that is a section of the twelve. Seek not tradition but that of modern days. My candle has begun to melt so its light has begun to fade from its brightest.

Also as a help:  A table

January   -   Garnet  -  Goat  - Dark Red    February - Amethyst  - Water Bearer - Purple        March    - Aquamarine -     Fish    - Light Blue         April     - Diamond   -  Ram  -    Clear
      May     -  Emerald -   Bull   -   Green           June   -     Pearl     -       Twins       -  White          July      -      Ruby       -    Crab    -     Red            August   -    Onyx     -   Lion  - Light Green
September - Sapphire - Virgin - Dark Blue    October  -     Opal     -        Scale       -   Pink       November -     Topaz      - Scorpion -   Yellow       December - Turquoise - Archer -   Blue

I added a chart of birthstones as part of the hints section of my riddle. Please use only those stones as your reference as they tend to vary quite a bit.

Yeah, I meant what I say as a positive comment. I'm seriously happy to see a better thought-out riddle than "What's rectangular and yellow? - A yellow rectangular!".
I don't have the benefit of hearing you talk so I can't use your tone of voice as an indication of intent.

I added to the riddle to give you an idea of what kind of information you'll need to have in order to solve it.

It's time for meitantei Mouri Kogorou to take the stage:
Spoiler:

The three stones in question:
January(1)   Garnet                                           Garnet (red)
February(2) Amethyst                                      Amethyst(purple)
November(11)    Topaz                                        Topaz(blue)

Figured out from:
Seek not tradition but that of modern days.

I seek change during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace.
Leads us to:

Wow, I can't believe somebody actually tried solving it! I ran away as soon as I saw it's about knowledge, not logic and psychology. :| Uncool, I know.

PROJECT: MYSTERY
What would happen if we combined the great minds of Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Shinichi Kudou and other detectives? We'd get the ultimate weapon against crime, a mind that would let no evildoer leave unpunished.
What would happen if we combined minds of Kogorou, eworm and many other Riddlers from this Thread? Would we get the ultimate riddle; one so challenging only the aforementioned detectives could solve it?

I propose to you PROJECT: MYSTERY - a chance of combining a lot of people's ideas, concepts and imaginations and creating the most awesome Riddle this Thread has ever seen. The Internet gives us such possibility with EtherPad - a free real-time collaborative text editor. Any amount of people can now edit and freely discuss one document at the same time! This gives us a chance to write a riddle with all of our ideas combined! The Ultimate Mystery, nothing less.
If this Project comes to life, I'm the first time to offer my ideas and help of course. But the invitation is directed for everybody here - whether veterans or newcomers or even DCTP staff. You all have a chance to do something really great!

That said - it would be no fun if everybody participated in creating the Riddle with nobody left to solve it. Moreover, we all live in different time zones - and so it could be a problem to find a time when all or most of us could be online together. Even though it's possible for one person to enter the EtherPad document alone and write their ideas and opinions on others' work for the rest to read later - the main idea is to communicate in real-time as much as we can. And for that reasons:
Let's try with FIVE PEOPLE first.
I do realize the job requires thinking - and therefore it's possible that we won't even get more volunteers. Besides, people may prefer to solve riddles than to create them, or just not believe in their ideas enough. So I think it's best to limit the number to five. Four if you exclude me.

With that said - I'm waiting for your opinions about this idea and, of course, cooperation offers. Don't think you have no chance to get into the first RIDDLING FIVE even if you've just now discovered this thread - it would be a good idea to have one or two newcomers amongst us. We, veterans, alone may overdo it and raise the difficulty level to impossible heights. Even the Ultimate Riddle should be solvable, otherwise it's pointless.

Every opinion is now priceless. Voice your doubts, words of encouragement, ideas and/or participation offers here or PM me.

(Sorry for interrupting, Shuutashi ;))

Count me in eworm.

And I can offer a TS server if we need to talk :)
We should hold that discussion in a different thread (like I outsourced W&B).
I love the idea.

Waiting for Shuutashi :)

Heh, you'd be in even if you didn't want to, Kogorou ;) Kidding, of course, but I knew you'd like it.
And TS is what?
