I remember I watched through all of it, but fell asleep at least twice. Of course, that may have been partially due to the fact that that would have been during the time when I was sleep deprived for about a month, but still.

It was better on a week to week basis, since you never knew when it would end.  Especially when it trolled you in the second episode, using the novel's final loop count, and then not stopping!

It was aggravating as hell back then, but it's sort of serendipitous now.

I totally thought those damn airplanes were going to be really important..NOPE.  They end up doing HW.  

I finished the second season, which was...okay, not as good as season 1.  Endless 8 and Sigh of Haruhi aren't anything special...

However, I watched Disappearance, holy crap that was a damn good movie, probably one of the best ones I have seen that rival with Miyazaki films.  Why can't the normal anime series be like that?  I mean, 8 episodes repeating...and then Mikuru beams?  It just felt really anti-climatic, nothing happened.  At least in season 1, the finale in broadcast order had the Haruhi and Kyon romance.

Questions about Disappearance - Who was the person who pushed Kyon down the stairs...and how is that "reality"?  Did Nagato whip something out again to trick everyone, how did everyone forget about what happened o_0  I was confused at some bits.

Also, I really like how Nagato stole the spotlight in this movie, it was more about her rather than the 'disappearance' of Haruhi.  This movie was Back to the Future anime style.  Also..did Nagato smile at the end, when she had the book?

So, is a season 3 planned or wut?

they'll announce something eventually. It's made too much money not to.

They're taking a while probably because the most recent light novel took like 4 years to be released despite the rest of them taking about a year.

I would rather see the remaining shorter stories put into an OVA and just do a movie once a year. Basically any episode you saw outside of Dissappeance, Melancholy and Sigh were random stories put into a couple of the light novels while the actual arcs get their own novel. And I'm pretty sure there are only 2-3 short stories left.

There are a lot of new characters to be introduced and story arcs to get through so they will probably do another series to squeeze more money. Two more light novels came out in Japan a couple of months ago when I was there.
