Resistance 3

Post by Moriarty »

So like, the other day my mother was babysitting a handicapped 10-year-old, and she had a headache. So she asked me to babysit him for half an hour. She told me "I'll give you $20 on Monday" but I said, "I'd rather you bought me a game instead, please?" and she agreed!
She asked "What game?" and I had two games in mind. Either Animal Crossing (3DS) or Resistance 3 (PS3). I knew Resistance 3 is coming out in less than a month, so I looked up a few videos for it.
Spoiler: Single Player Gameplay
Spoiler: Multi Player Gameplay
For those of you that don't know what Resistance is, I'll give you the short version. It is placed in the 1940s-1950s, where a Race of infected humans called the Chimera, try to take over the world. The story is particularly based upon one man, who was infected, but not turned into a Chimera, and in Resistance 2, there are also a few others like him. It is about the struggle the humans have, in order to destroy the Chimera, and be free again. In the end,
Spoiler: Sort of starts the games this way too but,
the humans pretty much lose, and are forced to live as rebels in hiding, where they do damage when and where they can to the Chimera.
Resistance was the first PS3 game I ever owned, and in the end, it had one of the most amazing stories, especially for it being an FPS. Although I must admit, the multiplayer in R1 and R2 were poorly made, but I expect R3 to live up to and even surpass its expectations. I'm sure everyone who watches those videos will agree as well.

So, on Monday, I am going down to my local EB Games (The Canadian localization of GameStop) to pre-order Resistance 3, because I read on the internet that pre-ordering there will give you Joseph Capelli's necklace made out of Chimeran teeth, as well as the fact that you will start as level 5 in multiplayer, already giving you full customization of skills and weapons.

So, is anyone else going to buy it? I mean, I imagine it has clan features much like R2 did (those of which I never really explored) and it would be cool to create one that will actually have a fair amount of members.

Game speculation and discussion goes here too.

Oh my gawd.

The Resistance 3 Doomsday Edition.

For $149.99 CDN you get R3 and the PS Move, along with its extra accessories.

I, am getting that.

meh Resistance franchise is kinda boring.  It's a generic FPS with nothing that makes it stand out.  Add on that it's partially a WW2 shooter meets aliens, it's even more dull.  I really dislike the aesthetics (moar brown plz!), and the multiplayer, like you said, is nothing special.

With all the games coming out this holiday, I'm going to have to skip out on this one

But, are there any other WWII meets aliens shooters out there? I think not.
