+1

Though I did watch Ano Hana and liked it. But in the end, I like Angel Beats better than Ano Hana. :P

I'm planning on it. It's another work by P.A Works and P.A. Works = good, in my opinion.

You should. I've watched CANAAN and loved it. True Tears is the only series I haven't watched by them.

Canaan is good, but it clearly wanted a second season that it never got.

is Code Geass recommendable for someone who doesn't really like mechas too much, i mean I don't really care for it.  But I hear this series is really good, and somewhat similar to Death Note in style?

I absolutely hate Gundam/other mechas outside TTGL but I still watched Code Geass and I liked it

The main character is very similar to Yagami Light and both are morally gray characters. I don't care for mecha either but I enjoy this series a lot.

Well, Code Geass is an anime original series, so wouldn't the anime be better?

Yeah, anime first. The manga/s are all spin-offs/alternate stories
