The FMA thread!!!

I finished reading FMA the manga last week at last but I watched the first season 5 months ago and am I the only one who doesn't like the first season? The first 23 episodes or so were really good because they really stick to the manga, but I really dislike the anime original plot. Besides, I'm not a fan of Rose so it was a bit annoying to see her playing a somewhat major part at the end. I also didn't like the fact that Ed was stuck in the other world. That's why I was so happy when I read the legitimate manga ending because the ending was just PERFECT.

I didn't mind the first anime, though the manga and Brotherhood are clearly superior.  Did you watch the Conqueror of Shambala?  That's the real ending to the first anime, since it wraps up pretty much all the loose ends.

Actually no because I was so sad with the first season ending that I didn't continue it. Besides, I knew that Brotherhood is so much better so I just figured I would go straight and start watching Brotherhood. ^^

Brotherhood is SO GORGEOUS. Plus, my day became happytimes yesterday when I found the DVD of episodes 40-52 in the freakin' bargain bin in HMV for a fiver. Sometimes I love the Scottish retailers' inability to recognize anime for what it's worth.

Also, for a pacifist, I think I love Briggs far too much. Probably because General Armstrong is epic. Also, their automatic response to the approach of a being who just swallowed God and blew apart some of the most powerful Alchemists on the planet? SHOOT IT IN THE FACE. WITH MISSILES. I think Episode 62 is the dictionary definition of "needs moar dakka". May also be the Briggs official policy.

It does speak volumes, though, for how badass Bradley is, that if you put several of these men, trained by a woman who would probably go kill Chuck Norris with her bare hands and wear his skin, and put them in a tank, and put the tank in a prime defensive position... it will still run away from Bradley when he walks up with a sword.

Brotherhood is just as good a dub.  In fact, 90% of the characters in the first series have the same voice actor.  Only ones that don't I think are Al, Selim, and Hughes's daughter.
