Re: Fire Emblem
#8 was on GBA.
I agree, we need a totally new world. I still would like a sequel to 8, but new storylines and characters would be better.
Can we please have a lord who doesn't use swords/axes/lances please? Especially not swords. How about one whose specialty is magic or a bow? That would be awesome.

I might wake up early and go running. I also might wake up and win the lottery. The odds are about the same.

Re: Fire Emblem
Nope. Swords are classical for the hero. If you just want super weapons and stuff, FE4 has that for every weapon. And Lyn has a bow. Besides, I think only one Lord has used axes and one used lances. Either way, heroes have swords!Commi-Ninja wrote: Can we please have a lord who doesn't use swords/axes/lances please? Especially not swords. How about one whose specialty is magic or a bow? Re: Fire Emblem
It's not a matter of having super-special-awesome weapons. You get a bunch of people with stuff like that in RD. I just want one with an unusual specialty.
True, lances and axes aren't normal for the most part, either, but they're still a common variety of weapon. Bows are slightly less so, and I don't think there's ever been a lord whose specialty was magic. Well, not in any that I've ever played, at least.

Ah, that's true! I don't know how I forgot about her.
Anyway, barring Lyn, we don't have one who specializes in bows. Since Lyn is primarily a sword-wielder, she doesn't really count.

Quite possibly.
Well, it's got to say something that my mother, who barely plays video games, has beat it at least six times herself. I swear, we've got the maps memorized.

Dunno, I thought FE10 was alright, though I prefer FE9 to it. I should look for those older FE games, I haven't played too much of the games.

Re: Fire Emblem
yeah, I know I wouldn't have to restart the whole game, but even levels would probably get annoying because I doubt it'd just happen once.GinRei wrote:You'd only have to restart a level, not the game. And from FE8 onward, the levels aren't exactly super long. If you want super long, try the original games. FE4's levels are like 5 times the time-length and size as the newer game maps. Which made for quite an adrenaline rush when I thought a level would end when I capped the castle in the north-east of the map, so I zerged it with 90% of my forces (remaining 10% at my base in the south-center), only to have enemy reinforcements show up from the south-west. They then zerged my base. Thank goodness I left an amazing guardian to bottleneck the entrance to the base. By the time I got my forces back, there was a backlog of about 12 enemies waiting for a chance to attack.Akonyl wrote: I've never played a FE game if only because I fear getting in situations where a character dies that make me go "noooo, now I gotta restart so they don't die!"
For those curious, I believe this is the map in question: http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/5814/chapter3.png
As far as mages go, I didn't use them at all in my playthrough of FE7. Too squishy. I started using them from FE8 onward, though.

After a while, though, you get used to what's coming at you in the level and learn to work around that. It's not as bad as it sounds, really.

That's probably why you thought FE10 was alright. You haven't played good Fire Emblem games.randompi314159 wrote: Dunno, I thought FE10 was alright, though I prefer FE9 to it. I should look for those older FE games, I haven't played too much of the games.
Exactly. Just don't go sending anyone who isn't an absolute beast out on their own, and don't leave a squishy person open to an ambush. If you really wanted it, you could use an online guide just to see when random reinforcements may appear and when. Nothing sucks more than tripping an enemy respawn by passing an imaginary line and having them surround your poor Cleric.Commi-Ninja wrote: After a while, though, you get used to what's coming at you in the level and learn to work around that.
