Started reading the second arc of Umineko yesterday and am currently reading the three volumes of Higurashi I just bought, Onikakushi-hen 2 and Tatarigoroshi-hen 1-2. Now all I need to buy is Onikakushi-ken 1 and Himatsubushi-hen 1 and I'll have all the ones that are out in English!

Just started reading that series too and it's been awesome so far.
Yea! It's pure shounen, nothing more, nothing less. Non-stop awesome fights are 100% of this manga. It seriously needs an anime.  :)

I've been reading Mitsuru Adachi's Touch all summer long, and am up to volume 20 so far.  It's managed to get me more interested in learning about baseball.

It's a shame Adachi has very little exposure to English-speaking fans.  His characters are very endearing, the way he sets the scenes within chapters, and his pacing during games is fantastic.  I might try Katsu! soon after this.

I bought the first volume of Touch when I was in Japan with the idea in mind to go translating it slowly. Sadly, it's metaphorically sitting in a corner catching dust T_T

I downloaded the first 4 higurashi novels in english and I've started reading them. Do you want a link to a page to download them?
PS: I had read the Umineko ones previously and watched the Higurashi anime.

You are welcome :D. Also in Higurashi (at least in the first one) you can't save whenever you want, only at specific points unlike in Umineko and that freked me out at first because I couldn't find where was the saving button (it's the first thing I always look for in a visual novel :P)

Katsu, Rough and Cross Game are his best ones IMO.

Touch got a little boring after..., *BIG SPOILER:
Spoiler:
Tatsuya's brother death(forgot his name>Kacchan?lol ::))

I kind of see what you mean, though I'd beg to differ.
Spoiler:
It did lag a little as Tatsuya was just beginning to get used to playing baseball, and the rest of Meisei's team hated him since he wasn't outwardly perfect like Katsuya and came off as unmotivated.  It really ends up being a huge problem to get over, since everyone thought then that Tatsuya had no athletic abilities at all, which turned out to be completely false.  While his brother was indeed a prodigy, Tatsuya really needed to mature in his thinking and motivation to really tap into the abilities he let lay dormant for so long.

IMO, Katsuya's death really made way for the rest of the characters' development, and really did show that Tatsuya wasn't really the lazy good-for-nothing he shows himself to be.  It really was interesting to see him mature and strengthen his own signature skills instead of trying to copy his brother, and at the same time still keep that same comical attitude he had from the beginning.

I also liked how Minami's hidden romance for Tatsuya really started to blossom as well.  It was only very subtly implied in the first volumes, but Adachi really allowed that to unfold very well for a "childhood friend" type subplot.  I even began liking some ofthe minor characters, like Kotaro and Harada, though I did find his rival Nitta's little sister very clingy and annoying. >>;

And yea I understand your point but,
Spoiler:
one of the things that I thought it was good was the rivalry between them over Minami. While Tatsuya obviously liked her, he didn't want to get in his brother's way, because he liked him so much and thought very bad of himself. With Kazuya's death, he was kind of "forced" to develop, while I wish he had opened his ways and tried to be better than Katsuya while he was still ALIVE. How cool would it be a match between brothers?

Also, Minami only date guys that go to Koshien?WTF? That's the one thing I hate about Adachi. He wants to leave the romance to the ending(he always uses something to do that) while he could easily finish it earlier, and get better results.
