What's this? You want me to kill you all? >:(

We need S-E-T-U-P first... after everyone get their roles like they wanted, how do you expect us to play without any rules and/or instructions?? :V

Make it like ace attorney?

A judge, one suspect, defendant and prosecutor.

Then there are witnesses. Depending what story you make, one of the witnesses is the real murderer (or culprit). Or even make the prime suspect the actual murderer XD

The GM could also be the role of the judge. The GM need to handle most of the things. He'll give the witnesses some points or a story they have to tell.
The real murderer also get's the story, but he'll also get some info, where he needs to contradict himself XD

Prosecutor and defendant won't know the real culprit of course ;)

Don't think you need a lot of rules? More like a setting/story

The case doesn't have to be fictional; it could be based on something that happened in the forum.
You could start with over-dramatising an incident that happened in the forum, creating a viable case out of it....

Though depending on how much work you might want to put into it, the soapbox would also be a considerable option for the crime scene.

If any of this sounds functional at all, let me know, so I could elaborate further on it.

OMG! I love you, Kleene! Awesome idea <3
So the judge is a GM? Umm... interesting. So, like Mafias, we have 2 teams. The prosecutors (lead prosecutor, and their followers the juries), and the defendants (lead defendants, and their followers the juries).
But if the judge is the GM at the same time. They will know the whole story (how shall they judge that way?).  :-\
Isn't it more realistic to have the GM and the judge different people? :D
Thanks a lot for helping me out, Kleene! ;D

Awesome, Abgho! That also went on my mind before :D
It'd be awesome <33
Yeah, that'd totally work! Like having... E. g. an anonymous who uses ' :P ' would be suspected as Parkur (and other members who uses it a lot). xD We can suspect anyone what they claimed to be (from their writing style, emoticons they uses, etc.).
That would be awesome! :D
Let me think this more thoroughly. ;)

Thanks a lot for sharing your brilliant idea! :D

Humm humm humm~
Depends?

The judge would be the one that say who "won".
If you make the judge a player, then the judge needs to get convinced XD

If you make the judge the GM, you as the GM can put up some conditions that the teams have to state. if they state it, or say something etc. then they get points for it. So the one with the most points would win. And jut the GM would know for what he'll give out points, since the GM knows the story and what happened etc.

if you put half of the jury on the prosecutor's "team" and half on the defense attorney's "team", the game would never come to an end because the jury would just vote for their team to win   :-X

Thread digging because I'm more free 8-)

What if:
Spoiler: The Players
The judge act as the GM
- Brings about a few witnesses (and the defendant) that point to certain facts, if they were ever asked in the correct manner (almost like a robot).
- The witness and defendant would only answer the question without lying if certain facts were met first (like "I'm making up my alibi to protect my daughter, who I believe is innocent" stuff)
- No Phoenix Wright looking for evidence stuff, which complicates things a lot. (But it might become necessary if the questioning period gets nowhere).
Equal number of players as jury, prosecution, and defense.

Each jury only win when they've chosen the right murderer.

There's two lawyer groups (depending on the number of players)
- The prosecution group wins if he gets the defendant to be guilty.
- The defense wins if he gets the defendant to be not guilty.
Spoiler: Game proceeding
The court procession can occur in days, just as it would be IRL.
- Game begins with a setting for what happened in the crime to everyone. It would involve alibi (the reason why they're sitting there in the courtroom)
- The setting allows for questions to be formulated

Each witness questioning period is separated into a 36-hour period.
- Some number of questions (like 5) will be posed, to the witness of the day, by the prosecution, then by the defense.
- Juries take note of what happens

Each period should have at least a 12-hour gap to allow re-organization for the next witness.

Once each witness has been questioned, a second round may occur in case new things were found from the 1st round.

Then the juries decide if the defendant is guilty or not.
Spoiler: My own critique
Ironically, almost like court of law, except with a few restrictions so that the whole truth can't be known entirely (or everyone knows whether the person is guilty or not).
The element in this way of playing is that no one really knows if they're right or not, since there's only SO much you can find out before making a judgement.
The hardest part is setting up a storyline. Poor judge, even without the whipping.
