Re: Doctor Who?
I've followed Doctor Who shows in a-not-Europe country. It was very beneficial, amusing, fascinating, and interesting show. I would like to watch it again

ah, gotcha.Stopwatch wrote: Maybe I should have just said that other than Donna they all fancied the Doctor (tin dogs aren't counted... Jack probably is though I think he prefered 9 over 10).
And, calling it now:
Spoiler:
"I thought I was going to die!"
Rory: "Welcome to my world."
good to see they acknowledge how often they kill him.

Re: Doctor Who?
I still say they are trying to circumvent the 13 lives 12 regeneration thing...
Otherwise, it was a decent episode. Though the Doctor's Wife blew it out of the water, because that was awesome.

I'm just going to say that the show is very complicated despite the fact that it is aimed at children and nothing is as ever as it seems.

Re: Doctor Who?
I disagree with the first part of your statement; while it is partly aimed at children that is by no way the main demographic. For example, in the UK it airs on BBC1, the BBC's main and most popular channel by far, and for Series 6 they've now moved it to a 6pm timeslot. There is no way they'd do that if they thought the ratings wouldn't withstand it. Basically, Doctor Who has such a wide audience that saying it's aimed at just children is incorrect. The audience range has led to much of it's popularity and the fact it can have spin offs such as Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures (Charlotte-Holmes wrote: I'm just going to say that the show is very complicated despite the fact that it is aimed at children and nothing is as ever as it seems.

*sigh* That was a pretty long rant thingymajig...
Also, River/Doctor/Tardis OT3 is pretty much canon now... Whoop~! (though the Eleven/Amy/Rory hints were good while they lasted)

Re: Doctor Who?
might just be me, but personally I'm really not a big fan of River Song. She was alright in the first episode she showed up in, but past that I haven't liked much of her.

Re: Doctor Who?
I know that it has a wide audience range since I am able to discuss it with people at school, but I have never seen the spin offs apart from one Sarah Jane Adventure which I believe is aimed at children due to it's simple plots.

Re: Doctor Who?
Torchwood has Jack Harkness in, that should tell you somewhat how unchild friendly it is.
My fave ships for it were Jack/Ianto and Tosh/Owen, not a fan of Gwen...
@Akonyl: It's the opposite for me, I used to dislike her but as we've seen more of her I think she's got somewhat better to me, still not my favourite character this series though, that goes to Rory and Eleven. The Tardis was absolutely awesome but I count her as a one story only 'cause the rest of the time we don't really see much of her characterisation...

I think it's too obvious how awesome the writers think she is.Akonyl wrote: might just be me, but personally I'm really not a big fan of River Song. She was alright in the first episode she showed up in, but past that I haven't liked much of her.

What are you talking about? Torchwood is totally kid friendly! Especially the last season!Stopwatch wrote: Torchwood has Jack Harkness in, that should tell you somewhat how unchild friendly it is.My fave ships for it were Jack/Ianto and Tosh/Owen, not a fan of Gwen...

And I agree about Gwen, hated her. Don't know why, but her and her hubby rubbed me the wrong way. Tosh is win in my eyes. Owen was meh. And Jack was is no matter what.
Thoughts on Jack being the Face of Boe?
Re: Doctor Who?
Well it could explain on how Face of Boe knew that the Doctor was not alone. Since jack was there himself. Though on his first appearance it said that the Face of Boe was pregnant.

Wow... just, wow. That cliffhangar should not have been that epic, I mean, it's only mid season! This episode was absolutely amazing, some bits were predictable but still managed to be Tear Jerker quality and then the rest...
EPIC
EPIC

Re: Doctor Who?
at the end of that season, they all but confirm that Jack is the Face of Boe anyway (Jack says that people used to call him the Face of Boe), though I don't remember the pregnant part.Wolf421 wrote: Well it could explain on how Face of Boe knew that the Doctor was not alone. it's that epic because there's only one episode left until the show goes on hiatus until Fall.Stopwatch wrote: Wow... just, wow. EPIC

also, I lol'd at the ending because of how much it defeated the purpose of the other parts ("Gangers are people!" *vaporizes Amy*), unless it turns out that the screwdriver doesn't actually kill people and they can be reconstituted later (in which case, flesh-doctor can be brought back to be killed still :V).
Also, at least this explains the whole face-in-the-walls thing (though, not exactly why flesh has the ability to see future things like the flesh-doctor mentioned to Amy), though still not who the hell she is.
