I can't choose between Ten and Eleven to be honest, though Ten's angstyness near the end of his reign ended up coming off a bit overdone (to be fair that was more the script's fault and the fact RTD wanted to go out with a bang than Tennant's actual acting).

Tenth easily. Though the ninth had the best series.

Yes~!  A Doctor Who thread!  <3

I just got into this series recently, and really really love it so far.  I'd say Ten is my favorite - but who am I to talk, without seeing Classic Who yet?  xD  The Eleventh Doctor's starting to grow on me as well.  :D  By the way...Doctor/Master...does anyone besides me ship it?  ;)

Who's excited for this week's episode?  Come on, Neil Gaiman...!

I haven't seen classic who either, doesn't mean I can't say anything about the new series :P

and I'd have to say Ten(nant) would be my favorite, his run had my favorite episodes in em.

One of the reasons I don't just choose between Ten and Eleven is 'cause the main showrunners were totally different. RTD (9 and 10) prefered emotional stories whereas Moffat (11) is more plot oriented with hints of horror in places (he created the weeping angels, the gas mask ep with the entire 'Are you my mummy~?' thing and River Song). It makes it harder to compare the different eras...
Though I agree with Akonyl on the 'favourite episodes' point, Blink, though Doctor-lite, and Midnight were awesome. And now I've forgotten the other one I was going to say...  :(

yes, I think River Song is rather horrifying as well :P

I also liked the Family of Blood + Human Nature (I think those were the episodes, where The Doctor is human for a bit)

Yeah, apparently they were based off a Doctor Who fanfic BBC novel for the 7th Doctor...? Or was it the 8th?
(River Song = terrifying, kissing people who barely know her she's as bad as Okiya and his stalking tendancies  :P)

I found David Tennant to be a little over rated and I lost interest when he played the part, but when Matt Smith took over I regained interest and enjoyed it more. Last series was pretty good. Can't say the same for the current one though.

The one thing I could not stand in doctor who (the new series) is the inclusion of Donna. God I thought she was very annoying. Regarding the comparison between the most recent three doctors I would have to say that I enjoyed David Tennant's version the most but Matt Smith's version is an interesting spin on the character  which is reminiscent of earlier doctor portrayal what with his quirkiness and spontaneity (seemingly more so than Tennant's portrayal). I found the two part story shot in america exceedingly funny at the end where the character who plays Crowley (in the Supernatural TV series) comes out while talking to Nixon.

Donna was a bit annoying at times, but she wasn't that bad. I also feel sorta bad for her for how her character left the show, pretty harsh imo :V

Overall, I thought that Donna was okay; one of my favourite things about her was probably how she was never a love interest and never wanted to be. It was quite refreshing after Rose and Martha...

was martha ever a love interest? Iirc the Doctor was still being emo over Rose at that point.

The Martha thing was always one-sided and she was rather annoying.

Maybe I should have just said that other than Donna they all fancied the Doctor (tin dogs aren't counted... Jack probably is though I think he prefered 9 over 10 ;)).
